As I’ve mentioned before, one of my important reading goals of 2023 is shrinking my physical TBR. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books I still have or subjects I want to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Flowers. I am so bad with covers, I have no clue what my books look like haha. Especially not the ones I haven’t read yet. But I will have a look at my shelves and see if I can find 5 books with flowers on the cover. Let’s jump in!
1. When Woman Were Dragons – Kelly Barnhill
I definitely didn’t realise this one had flowers on the cover! It doesn’t really seem to fit the vibe? Although I haven’t read the book yet (obviously) so who knows haha. Lately I’m enjoying adult fantasy more and more so I’m excited to try this one.
2. The Black Tulip – Alexandre Dumas
I couldn’t not include this one! It’s actually about flowers and of course they’re featured on the cover as well. I’m not a big classics reader but this is one I do want to read. Knowing this is set in the Netherlands makes it more interesting for sure.
3. The Future of Another Timeline – Annalee Newitz
I love stories about time travel! Not all of them are well done but I love trying new ones and see how they tackle the concept. There have been such surprising takes and I can’t wait to finally read this one. It also doesn’t seem like a very long read so I think I could read it pretty quickly.
4. The Belles – Dhonielle Clayton
I’ve had this one on my shelves for quite a while now. The reviews are all over the place and I have no clue if I’ll end up liking this one. Maybe this is a good one for another try a chapter tag. Book 3 in the series was released last month so this seems like a good moment to decide whether I want to read the whole series.
5. All the Crooked Saints – Maggie Stiefvater
I adore the Maggie Stiefvater books I’ve read so far and I can’t believe I still haven’t read this one yet. Although I also have another one that might be even more surprising to still be unread. This one is less up my alley but I am definitely intrigued. I should try it soon!
5 books with flowers on the cover! Have you read any of these? Which one should I start with? Any you think I’ll love, or one you’re curious about? Let me know in the comments!
They’re all gorgeous, but The Black Tulip’s cover is especially stunning.
