Tag | Try a Chapter – Netgalley Edition

After doing a Try a Chapter tag with books I was planning on unboxing, I thought it would also be a good idea to this with older Netgalley arc’s I have. There are some books where I wonder if I’m still even interested in them anymore. A Try a Chapter tag is the perfect way of deciding which books I still want to read and which I’m done with. Let’s jump in!

School for Psychics – K.C. Archer

This one had a long first chapter! That is something that turns me off a bit to be honest, I’d rather have short chapters. But I also have to say, I’m still intrigued! And after that first chapter I actually wanted to read more! So this might have to be an eARC I’ll read soon.

Outrun the Wind – Elizabeth Tammi

I was super excited about this book before it was released but I have lost interest since. After reading the first chapter I’m not convinced I will enjoy this one. It’s not bad at all but I do feel some cliches coming. At the moment I’m still on the fence, I might give it a few more chapters.

Song of Blood & Stone – L. Penelope

I tried the first chapter but I caught myself skimming it a couple of times. This one just couldn’t capture my attention at all. And that might be my mood and stresslevel but at the same time I’m reading another book that does grab me right away. So I think this just isn’t the book for me. There is a magic system, but I’m not curious about it and I don’t care how it works.

These are three netgalley books I still have on my TBR. One I won’t be reading anymore, one I’ll give a bit longer before deciding and one that I actually enjoyed so far. What do you think of my choices? Do you agree? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Okay so for Song of Blood and Stone, I noticed that the latest edition is actually different from what it initially was, so that may help. I remember trying to listen to the edition that you have on your post, and then comparing it to the physical one I bought and there is a clear difference. So maybe that may help if you tried it again? Other than that, great post 🙂 Sorry for my ramble lol
