Royal Update #164

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Since my last Royal Update things haven’t been very excited. Shasta has finished her medicine and seems to be better. She hasn’t coughed anymore, so we’re really hoping it stays that way. The same week she started her medicine, I also ended up sick. That cold hit me hard! I was home for the whole week.

This past week was a slow week. I was getting over the cold and working. On Saturday we had our monthly game night. Two more weeks of work and I have two weeks off of work. We’re not going away, but we’re going to go on some outings. I’m very much looking forward to that and some extra reading time.

I got a few eARCs this week that I’m excited about. Look at all of these pretty covers.

I’ve read a lot since my last Royal Update: The Girl in the Headlines, Dark Fae, Thank You for Listening, Madden, Twisted Love, The Words, You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty, Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail, A Pessimist’s Guide to Love, Cafe Con Lychee, Blind Side, and The Serpent and the Wings of Night.

I’m currently reading: Secretly Yours, NerdCrush, Gild, Before I Let Go, Quarterback Sneak, Ghosted, and The Lies of Locke Lamora.

Next up I have quite a few books planned: Cruel Illusions, Court of the Undying Seasons, Kingdom of the Cursed, When Gracie Met the Grump, and Up with the Sun.

There were quite a few cover reveals this week that caught my eye. These all look amazing!

I have nothing new to add to my shop log. We did have to replace our washer and bought a new mattress, but those aren’t really exciting things, haha. Even though I’m looking forward to sleeping on a new mattress.

We have movie night ever Sunday and last week we watched Wakanda Forever. This movie was amazing and I’m glad we watched it. I love that it was dedicated to Chadwick Boseman. That was done beautifully.

Pink had a new album release and it’s been on repeat since Friday. I think this is one of my favorite albums by her so far.

So that’s my Royal Update for this week! How have you been? Have you read and watched anything amazing lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
