Royal Update #163

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Last time I talked about my final presentation, and since that post is all happened! I have finally graduated and I’m now officially a teacher. Since then I have had super busy weeks at my work so I haven’t been able to enjoy it as much as I hoped I would haha. Hopefully I can start enjoying not having to study when I’m home and stop feeling guilty when I’m doing something simply for my enjoyment. I have bought myself a present, as I will show in the shop log and I have been enjoying working on that so I’m starting off decently on the enjoyment part ;).

Still no new eARC’s to mention!

I’m still reading The Burning God and The Serpent and the Wings of Night. But I have finished a couple of short things; The Drowning Faith, Fence vol. 5 and Mysteries of Thorn Manor. I’m thinking of starting Dial A for Aunties and The Righteous after finishing my current reads.

V.E. Schwab shared a snippet from the upcoming Threads of Power, the first in the spin-off series from Shades of Magic! I’m super excited for this release as I love the Shades of Magic series and was hoping for a spin-off during the final book. My expectations are very high!

Over a year ago I promised myself I could buy the Lego Hogwarts Castle as soon as I was graduated. So last weekend I immediately went to the Lego store and got myself a very big present haha. Of course I started building right away! I’m trying to pace myself and make the most of the money I spend, it’s so much fun and I don’t want it to end.

I came across a funny edit on tiktok and decided to try the show they mentioned, so I got sucked into Raising Hope. It’s so funny! I’m bingeing this in an absurd tempo haha. Just before that I started watching all of Buffy since I finished my binge of Bones but Buffy will have to wait a little bit longer.

Like half of the world I’ve been listening to Shakira’s newest song on repeat. I think it’s hilarious and a really catchy song!
