It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish?
The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake
When I started The Atlas Six I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of it, but I ended up loving this book. It’s a bit wordy at times, but it had me completely pulled in. How everything comes together at the end still has me processing. I’ll be reading the sequel in February (I hope).
Ship Wrecked – Olivia Dade
Ship Wrecked is the last of the Spoiler Alert series (as far as I know) and unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. I enjoyed most of Peter and Maria’s story, but there were some things at the end that had me very frustrated. All in all, still a fun series!
Survive the Night – Riley Sager
To be honest I don’t even know where to start when it comes to Survive the Night. Riley Sager is an author I’ve been wanting to try for awhile and I’m not sure if this is one for me. There were a lot of inconsistencies in this story that really bugged me and some what I felt like were plot holes. I can’t give away too much, because it is a thriller. Let’s just say it wasn’t my book.
What are you currently reading?
An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak – Jennifer Hartmann
Jennifer Hartmann is an author I’ve heard a lot about and An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak sounded right up my alley. It’s clear something happened in Lucy and Cal’s past and I’m hooked. I have a feeling this book will have me in tears before the ending though.
Mysteries of Thorn Manor – Margaret Rogerson
Sorcery of Thorns was a book I really enjoyed and I was excited when the author announced this novella. As I’m typing this I have about an hour left in the audiobook (so I’ll probably be finished when this post comes online) and it’s cute so far.
Nine Liars – Maureen Johnson
Truly Devious is a series I’ve been loving, so I was so excited the author decided to give us another book. I’m not that far with Nine Liars yet, but what I’ve read is really good. It’s great to be back in a setting I’ve already enjoyed for four books.
Twisted Love – Ana Huang
If you’re on bookstagram, booktube, or booktok, there’s a big chance you’ll have seen this series. After hearing so many great things I decided it was time for me to give it a go! I’m about 100 pages in and I’m enjoying Ava and Alex’s characters. I’ve laughed out loud a few times already. I can already say I’ll be continuing the series.
What do you think you’ll read next?
February is filled with buddyreads for me and I’m so excited! So I’m only going to mention a few books or it would be a book, haha.
Gild – Raven Kennedy
The Plated Prisoner series is one I was determined to read last year, but never got around to. A group in my Discord book club is doing a reread leading up to the next book, so I decided to tag along and read them for the first time. This series is pretty hyped, so I’m hoping to be a reader that loves it as well.
Out of Character -Jenna Miller
Out of Character is a book I’ve talked about a few times on the blog recently, but one I’m really excited about. Our main character has found an online community for the fandom she loves, but this starts to have consequences for her real life. My review will be online next week.
A Marvellous Light -Freya Marske
A Marvellous Light is a book I’ve been wanting to read since it released. I’ll be reading it this month with a group of friends. A magic-infused murder mystery and a queer romance? Yes, please!
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What are you reading or planning on reading? Or have you read any amazing books lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
Oh man, there are some awesome ones on that list.
