Royal Update #156

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I’m actually writing this post a day earlier than normal. I decided to get some things done earlier, so I don’t have to do anything for the blog on Christmas or the boyfriend’s birthday. I’ve had a busy couple of weeks. Last week I went to Utrecht with my mother and we had lunch. We also walked around a bit, but it was so cold we didn’t stay out for too long. I did get my name spelled in the weirdest way at Starbucks, haha.

This week was nuts at work. Everyone getting ready for the holidays. Let me tell you it doesn’t bring out the best in people. Friday was my last day before Christmas, so after running a few errands on Christmas Eve I got to relax the rest of the day. Thursday I had another little outing with my mother for a few last minute Christmas gifts. I’m all ready to celebrate on Sunday.

I’ve actually been good these past couple of weeks and only have one e-arc to share. I recently got this one for the tour we’re hosting with TBR and Beyond Tours.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: Problem Child, Talk Santa to Me, Icebreaker, So This Is Christmas, Brutal Prince, The Mistletoe Bet, Tangled in Tinsel, How the Grump Saved Christmas, The Christmas Clash, and Melt For Us.

I’m currently reading: Maggie Moves On, The Becoming of Noah Shaw, Tis the Season for Revenge, and Good Girl, Dead Girl.

Next I’ll be reading: Stolen Heir and A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows.

There’s actually a cover reveal I have to share with you this week. Yellowface by R.F. Kuang got a cover this week. This story sounds great and I’ll definitely be reading it when this book releases in May.

I have nothing to share in my shop log this week. Everything I’ve bought lately were Christmas gifts, haha.

Last week for our weekly movie night on Sunday we watched The Christmas Chronicles 2. I thought it was a great Christmas movie and I’m glad we finally watched this sequel.

I’ve still been on a listening to Christmas music streak. My next Royal Update will have something different, because the season will be over.

For everyone that celebrates, I hope you had an amazing Christmas. I can’t believe my next Royal Update will be at the beginning of 2023. I hope we all get an amazing year! Have you read or watched anything amazing lately? Let me know in the comments! I’m always looking for more recommendations.
