Last Wednesday a new show started on Netflix; Wednesday. Everyone knows the Addams family, and now we can learn more about their daughter, Wednesday Addams. Of course I wanted to see if it was any good and I watch the first couple of episodes. And today I will give you my opinion based on the start of the show. So let’s take a look!

A sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

While I wasn’t a super fan of the Addams family, I did like the movie and stories surrounding them. I also like this kind of story and was intrigued enough to at least watch the trailer. And I will say, after that I was hooked. This show seemed to have a lot of elements I love. It also reminded me a little bit of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, one of my favorite shows ever.

The show aired on Netflix this past week. It has 8 episodes, all about 45 minutes. In the Netherlands it’s currently the number one watched tv show on Netflix. And I’m not really surprised about that haha. There hasn’t been an announcement for a second season yet, but from what I gathered there are still a lot of unanswered questions at the end of this season so hopefully we will get another season.

I watched the first couple of episodes and I had a lot of trouble stopping haha. Unfortunately I had some plans I couldn’t get out off so I had to stop watching. Otherwise I probably would’ve finished the show already. Because I was completely hooked. The characters are great, the story is interesting and the vibe and visuals are amazing. I think this might be a new favorite of mine.

We get an interesting main mystery but there are also some (seemingly) side plots that are intriguing. I can’t wait to find out what is going on and I want to learn more about basically everything. There is hardly any character I trust but also a few who have stolen my heart already.
