It’s November 1st which means it’s time to look back at October. To start off the month we want to tell you what books we added to our shelves last month. Were we good? Or did we add a few more than expected? Keep on reading for our October bookhaul.
Candyce
In October I added 8 new books to my shelves. I’m pretty happy with myself, because I’ve already read three of these new additions to my shelves. So let’s take a look at the new books!
It Starts with Us – Colleen Hoover
It Starts with Us is a book a lot of fans of It Ends with Us have been waiting for. I actually pre-ordered this one and read it the same week I got it. I love this cover. The book was good, but there were some things that were missing for me.
What Lies Beyond the Veil – Harper L. Woods
What Lies Beyond the Veil is a book I saw everywhere on bookstagram right around the time the sequel released. I flew through this book and highly recommend this for fantasy lovers. I’ll be reading the sequel this week.
See You Yesterday – Rachel Lynn Solomon
Rachel Lynn Solomon has become an auto-buy author for me and I needed this Groundhog Day story! Look at this pretty pink cover. I really should read this before the end of the year.
They First to Die at the End – Adam Silvera
I never expected to be getting a prequel to They Both Die at the End. They First Die at the End is the story of the first characters to get this phone call. I’m preparing to be emotionally destroyed all over again.
Love in the Time of Serial Killers – Alicia Thompson
The title really caught my eye for this one! If you’re looking for a fast and fun romance I definitely recommend reading this one.
Komi Can’t Communicate Vol.1-Vol.3 – Tomohito Oda
The boyfriend and I started watching the anime for Komi Can’t Communicate on Netflix and I’ve enjoyed the episodes we’ve seen. So when I saw that they had the manga at the bookstore when we visited I picked up the first three.
Isabelle
I actually bought two new books this month! Last week I had a week off work and went to a bookstore. I just had to get a book and they had a discount on the second book so of course I had to buy two haha. Audible had a sale so I got some audiobooks as well. Let’s take a look!
The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake
This was the book I went for right away. I have been super curious about this one and I’m very excited to start reading it. There has been a pretty big hype but I try not to really listen to what has been said. I want to go in without a lot of expectations and hopefully enjoy this a lot.
When Women Were Dragons – Kelly Barnhill
When I looked for another book to buy I came across this one. I loved the title and was interested right away. The synopsis sounded very good and I hope this is as good as the synopsis. I’ve seen reviewers that loved it and ones that were disappointed, I can’t wait to find out where I fall.
Audible
Pieces of Her – Karin Slaughter
I love Karin Slaughter and I’m glad I’ve found my way back to her books. It’s been a while since I read one of her books and getting the audiobooks is a good way to at least read the books I’ve already got on my shelves. Hopefully I can read all the ones that have been released in the previous years.
Before the Devil Breaks You – Libba Bray
After reading and loving Lair of Dreams I had to get the next book in the sequel as well. I can’t wait to continue the series now that I still have the details fresh in my mind. A lot of people say they loved book three the most so I have very high hopes!
The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon
I have some really big books on my TBR and getting the audiobook is a great way for me to get through them. So I decided to get the audiobook for The Priory of the Orange Tree. I really want to read this book and I can’t wait to listen to the audiobook.
The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle – Stuart Turton
This one was part of the sale and while I already read it, I couldn’t resist getting the audiobook. I love this book and have been wanting to reread it for a while now. And I already listened to part of it. It was so cool to be back in this story and read it while knowing where the story is going.
Eight Perfect Murders – Peter Swanson
I have been interested in this one for a while now so the Audible sale was the perfect time to get it. It’s a quick listen and the book has an interesting synopsis. I have been in the mood for mystery novels lately and I think October it the perfect time for them haha.
The Three-Body Problem – Cixin Liu
This is a popular sci-fi story and I really want to read more sci-fi. The moment I saw this one in the sale I figured it was the perfect time to get it. I’m not sure when I will be listening to this one but I am curious about the story so hopefully soon!
The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August – Claire North
I’ve seen this one in a video by one of my favourite youtubers. The story sounded really interesting so when I saw that this one was included in the Audible sale I decided to just go for it. Like I said, I want to read more sci-fi stories and this is one I’m very excited about.
The Good Daughter – Karin Slaughter
Another Karin Slaughter book I already own. But audiobooks are the way to go for me currently and it’s a good way to read some books from my TBR haha. Hopefully I will read some more books from my TBR before the end of the year!
So that’s our October bookhaul. Did you add any new books to your collection? Or read any of the ones we did? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
