Today the third episode of House of the Dragon will be released. That means I have been able to watch two episodes for far. A great moment to share my first impression of this new, Game of Thrones prequel show. Let’s take a look!
House of the Dragon tells the story of an internal succession war within House Targaryen at the height of its power, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
As I’ve said, so far there have been two episodes, with another one dropping today. Every Sunday there will be a new one. The first two were both about an hour each. One was a bit longer, the other a bit shorter.
We follow House Targaryen in this prequel show. The story is set almost 2 decades before the events of Game of Thrones but the world is mostly the same. You will recognise a lot of surnames, a fun little nod to the original show and characters.
I really enjoyed these first two episodes, there are a couple of brutal scenes, a lot of intrigue and some interesting characters. While I don’t care about the characters as I did for the original ones yet, I do have hope that might still happen. I really liked some of them and I am curious where their stories will go!
Based on these first two episodes I will definitely continue watching this one for a while. Probably the first season, after which I will evaluate whether I want to continue. Like I said, so far I have pretty good hopes. And there have been quite some scenes with dragons!! That made me extremely happy haha. Hopefully there will follow a lot more.
