Royal Update #139

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

After travelling back home I immediately had to start work, first to get my classroom ready for the new school year and last week for the first week of school. I was a bit nervous as this year is my first year as a full time teacher with my own class but I’m also super excited. This first week was enjoyable and I have good hopes for this school year. And this past weekend I got to celebrate that at the Grand Prix at Spa. I love Formula One and finally attended a GP. Since I will be back late Sunday evening, I wrote this post beforehand, but I’m sure it will be amazing.

Two new eARC’s! I just couldn’t stop myself haha. Both Frontier and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches sound amazing and I’m very excited to read them. Hopefully they live up to my expectations.

These past two weeks I finished High Times in the Low Parliament, All of Our Demise and All Good People Here. Very enjoyable reads, and you can expect reviews soon for all three of these. I’m currently reading The Hero of Ages and A Court of Silver Flames. After the Hero of Ages, I’ll pick up The Alloy of Law.

Of course I started watching She-Hulk this past week. I was super curious and it started off really fun. This is definitely one I want to continue watching. Other than that I haven’t been able to watch much, the first weeks of work were busy and I didn’t have time this weekend either. Hopefully after this I’ll have more time!

One of the girls at the Bachelorette two weeks ago lives in Nashville and she introduced me to Joy Oladokun. I loved Joy’s music right away and have mostly been listening to this album!

A bit of a short one, but this is my Royal Update for the week! I’m happy that I’m finally reading some more again, with audiobooks definitely helping there. Hopefully I can continue that feeling!
