Bookhaul | July 2022

It’s the first of the month and that means it’s time for us to share the books we added to our collections last month. What books did we get in August? Were we good? Keep on reading to find out in our July bookhaul.

July was actually a pretty good month. I ended up adding four books to my collection. I’m really proud of myself though, because I’ve already read 3 out of the 4 books. And I’ll be reading the fourth one this week. I hope to continue to do so well with reading the books I buy right away.

It Happened One Summer – Tessa Bailey

It Happened One Summer is a book that has been everywhere since it released in 2021. I’ve been a bit hesitant about reading it because of the hype, but after the announcement it’s been adapted I have to say I was curious. This book was actually a lot of fun! I’m looking forward to see what they do with this on screen.

Nyxia Unleashed & Nyxia Uprising – Scott Reintgen

After finishing the first Nyxia book I needed to know how it continued, so I bought Nyxia Unleashed. Last week I finished Nyxia Unleashed and once again it ended leaving me wanting more. So I ordered the third and final book Nyxia Uprising (I forgot to take a picture of it). I may finally finish a series in August.

Every Summer After – Carley Fortune

Every Summer After was another book all over bookstagram and BookTok. I loved the idea of the story going back and forth between the past and the present. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down and finished it rather quickly.

Haha, I don’t think anyone is surprised at this point but I didn’t get any new books this month. Since I’m currently in the States and I usually do buy some books here, so I hope to have a different story next month! However, I decided to start sharing which audiobook I spend my Audible credit on here as well. It basically is a new book in my collection so I think it counts haha.

New Audible Books

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes – Suzanne Collins

All of a sudden I felt the need to read this one and getting it as an audiobook was a great idea. I had a couple of credits left and as soon as I got this one I stared listening to it. Some people thought it dragged but since I listened to the audiobook I read it pretty quickly.

A Master of Djinn – P. Djèli Clark

I adore the short stories and novellas in the Dead Djinn Universe and this first full length book in the series has been on my wishlist for quite a while now.  Since I had a couple of credits I decided to go for the audiobook, I’m sure it’s a good way to spend them and I can finally dive back into this world.

And that was our bookhaul for this month! Did you add any new books to your collection this month? And what did you think of our hauls? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I feel exactly the same about It Happened One Summer but I have also bought it now and want to read it on my vacation. Didn´t know it was going to be adapted, is it a movie or a series? 😀
