Last week I saw an ad for Black Bird and I decided to take a look. Taron Egerton plays one of the main characters and I really like him as an actor so I was immediately interested. The story also sounded interesting so I watched the first two episodes. And today I wanted to share my first impression, so let’s take a look!
Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison but he cuts a deal with the FBI to befriend a suspected serial killer. Keene has to elicit a confession from Larry Hall to find the bodies of as many as eighteen women.
As I said I was first interested in Black Bird because of Taron Egerton, who by the way does not disappoint in the first episodes. But the story is also intriguing. I enjoy prison shows, stuff with the FBI, with criminals, basically these types of shows haha.
At first I didn’t realise this was set in the ’90s but I liked the somewhat ‘historic’ setting. It reminded me a bit off Mindhunter, so this might be for people who enjoyed that show as well.
WOW WOW WOW what a show!!! I just have to say that. The actors did an amazing job and really carry this show. I like the storyline and enjoy it a lot, but the acting is what makes it so great in my opinion. These first episodes really blew me away and I’m counting down the days until the next episode aires.
My first impression is a great one and I can’t wait to see the rest of the show. It’s a shame there is only one episode a week or I would’ve binged the complete show already haha. I highly recommend this show! Have you watched the first episodes? Are you planning on watching them? Let me know in the comments!
