Tracking your TBR is pretty important when it’s quite large, haha. Besides Down the TBR Hole and my Netgalley Backlist we needed something to track our physical TBR. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Forced Proximity, something I do really enjoy! But Candyce already did that topic last week and I actually like the idea of looking at the translated books on my TBR. So I decided to go with the topic from last week and take on Translated. Let’s take a look!
The Last Wish – Andrzej Sapkowski
translated from Polish
I still haven’t watched The Witcher, because I want to read this first haha. And maybe the next book as well. I just know I probably won’t read this anymore if I’ve seen the show so I keep putting it off. But I do really want to experience this story one way or another, so maybe this summer ;).
Phobos3 – Victor Dixen
translated from French
I got the first book in this series because the author came to the Netherlands and was going to attend the festival he would be at. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the book and read the second one as well. I got the third one for a birthday a couple of years ago I believe, and I have been planning on reading this ever since…. Someday I will read it!
Three Seconds – Anders Roslund
translated from Swedish
I got this from a pound store when I was living in London and didn’t realise it was part of a series until later. It’s the fifth book in the series but since it’s a mystery thriller I think I’ll be okay with just reading it. I’ve definitely read other mystery thriller series out of order. It’s not ideal but I’d like to try this before spending more money on the series. Let’s see if I enjoy this one first.
The Black Tulip – Alexandre Dumas
translated from French
I love that this is set in the Netherlands, I love that the author is French and black and most of all I love this edition. It is gorgeous and I’m very happy that I own a copy. I like the sound of this story but I hardly ever read classics so it might be awhile before I actually read this one.
Reckless – Cornelia Funke
translated from German
Cornelia wrote one of my absolute favorite childhood books, Inkheart. So of course I had to get this one when I came across it. I haven’t been super interested in it since to be honest, but I do still plan on reading this story. The Inkworld trilogy was amazing and Cornelia announced that there will be a new trilogy set 5 years after the events of the original trilogy.
And those were 5 translated books on my TBR! I actually had more than I was expecting and I could just pick 5 to talk about. Have you read any of these? I would love to hear your thoughts! And which one should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments!
The Black Tulip is supposed to be really good!
