Bookish Item| Have I Read Any of My 2022 Most Anticipated Releases?

Besides the posts we do at the beginning of the year talking about our most anticipated releases I also have to make a list for the TBR and Beyond Facebook group. At the end of the year all moderators make a list and we get graphics. We’re halfway through the year, so it’s time to talk about mine. Some haven’t released yet, but quite a few have. Have I read any of my most 2022 anticipated releases? Let’s find out!

Every year we makes a list of anticipated releases. For 2022 we all had to pick 15 books. At this moment I believe only two of these books aren’t out yet: Amari and the Great Game (August 30, 2022) and My Imaginary Mary (August 2, 2022). So those I haven’t been able to pick up yet.

I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised that I’ve already read six of the books on my list. That’s more than it’s been the last few years. Also, from the books I haven’t read yet I already own 2 and one I plan on reading in July (Book Lovers). So far I’ve read:

Mr. Wrong Number – Lynn Painter

Lynn Painter got a spot on my auto-buy author list after I read Better Than the Movies and loved it so much! I knew she did YA romance well, so I was excited for Mr. Wrong Number. A few wrong texts turn into an interesting relationship when you come to find out she’s been texting her brother’s best friend. I laughed a lot while reading this one!

Delilah Doesn’t Care – Ashley Herring Blake

Ashley Herring Blake is an author I know from her emotional middle grade stories. So I was really excited to see she was writing an adult queer romance. Delilah Doesn’t Care is definitely one of my favorite books of 2022. It has amazing characters, the perfect amount of steamy scenes, humor, and even some emotional things some of the characters have to work through. I can’t wait for the next book to release.

Only a Monster – Vanessa Len

Only a Monster is an amazing debut book and I’ve already read it twice. I read my e-arc and then listened to the audiobook a couple of months later. The only downside of reading a book early is that it takes even longer before you get the next book.

All the Right Reasons – Bethany Mangle

I loved the idea of this mother and daughter duo going on a reality TV show for her mother to find love. The beginning really had me sucked in and I wanted to know where it would go. If I’m honest this one was kind of a let down though. I needed more depth and it to dive deeper into the relationships and even the relationship between her and her mother.

Gallant – V.E. Schwab

V.E. Schwab is one of my favorite authors and Gallant was one I needed as soon as I heard about it. I loved the atmosphere and magical writing. This book was eerie, dark, magical, and I wish this book was a lot longer. I didn’t want to leave this fictional world.

Court – Tracy Wolff

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: these books are like a train wreck. You just can’t stop reading. And we’re now four books in and I’m still completely invested. I need to know how this is going to play out. Court was actually supposed to release last year, but it got delayed. Hopefully we get the next book as planned.

Anticipated releases already out in the world that I still need to read: Four Aunties and a Wedding, Witchlings, Bitter, Book Lovers, The Marvellers, These Deadly Games, and One For All.

I’m really proud of myself so far and the others on this list I really want to read before the end of the year. I’m just glad I did a lot better than expected. Have you read many of your most anticipated releases of 2022? Did they live up to your expectations? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
