Tracking your TBR is pretty important when it’s quite large, haha. Besides Down the TBR Hole and my Netgalley Backlist we needed something to track my physical TBR. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Use a Past Prompt You Missed and I decided to go with Secrets. Candyce did that prompt last month and I thought it was a fun one so wanted to do it as well. As you know I love mystery novels so I have a lot of books with secrets in them. Let’s pick 5 out!
1.Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
This one has a secret society so I can safely say it has secrets haha. It’s also a very dark read from what I’ve heard but I’m exited to try it. Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite authors and I’m excited to see her work outside of the Grishaverse (although I also want another 20 books in the Grishaverse haha).
2. The Devouring Gray – Christine Lynn Herman
From the synopsis I gathered there will be secrets and I think that also really fits the vibe of this YA mystery. If it doesn’t have any secrets I’ll be very very very surprised haha. This one sounds like one I will enjoy a lot and I can’t believe I still haven’t read it!
3. Escaping from Houdini – Kerri Maniscalco
The books in this series are murder mysteries so you can bet there will be secrets. Even though the killer in the first book wasn’t a secret to me (because I guessed it before even starting the book), I do think this one will hold some. I keep hearing this books get better so I hope this one surprises me in a good way.
4. The Good Daughter – Karin Slaughter
I love Karin Slaughter so much! It’s been a while since I read a book by her but they’re always filled with secrets. And really good secrets at that. This also has really good reviews and I’m sure I’m going to love it. So far I’ve loved every Karin Slaughter I picked up so I have high hopes.
5. Lair of Dreams – Libba Bray
Our main character Evie has the ability to read secrets so I’m pretty sure this book will have some secrets haha. I loved the first book in the series and hope to continue it soon. Both book 2 and 3 are on my shelves so I should go through the series fairly soon.
Somehow all these covers have a similar, dark vibe haha. I guess they already try to warn us about the content and all the secrets inside ;). Have you read any of these? I would love to hear you thoughts on them!
