If you’ve been following the blog you know that I loved Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter. I’ve read it twice now, so when she announced her adult romance I was really excited. Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall… or maybe she’s just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a What are you wearing? text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining–albeit anonymous–relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing….

Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend’s annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she’s turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He’s sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she’s the irresistible Miss Misdial he’s been sort of sexting for weeks–and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.

Things get textual when a steamy message from a random wrong number turns into a thrilling anonymous relationship in this hilarious rom-com by Lynn Painter.

Review

Mr. Wrong Number is a book that had me laughing and smiling from the very first line. I’m a big fan of books with text messages. I don’t know what it is, but they just make me happy. I couldn’t put this book down and I have to say if I wasn’t sick when I read this I would’ve finished it in one sitting.

Olivia is a character I can very much relate to, haha. I’m very clumsy. I’ve never burned down a building by being clumsy, but I’ve broken bones and have had some interesting stories to tell, haha. Olivia was a mess though. Every time she thought she had things going something would go wrong. I loved reading about her journey in this book. I didn’t completely understand the lying, I mean you know it’s going to go wrong, but she grew a lot in this book.

Colin has officially been added to my book boyfriend list. Getting his POV really helped in this story. I don’t know if I would’ve liked him as much without it. He is really caring and hardworking. When he realizes his mysterious texting partner is his best friend’s sister things get complicated. I loved how he was with her though and thought he was the perfect match for her.

The relationship between Olivia and Colin is definitely more enemies than anything at the beginning. I love their banter and how they think of each other at first. That changes of course while they’re texting even if they don’t know it. They had me laughing and swooning while reading this story and I love their happily ever after.

All in all, Mr. Wrong Number was the perfect pick me up I needed and I definitely will be planning a reread. I definitely recommend this one if you love books that make you laugh and leave a smile on your face.

Lynn Painter is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine and is now definitely an auto-buy author. She has a couple of books releasing in the next year I’m excited about and that I’ll definitely be reading. What are your favorite rom-coms if you read that genre? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you!
