Tracking your TBR is pretty important when it’s quite large, haha. Besides Down the TBR Hole and my Netgalley Backlist we needed something to track my physical TBR. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Horror. And as you might know, I’m not a big horror reader haha. I scare easily so while I do love mystery and thriller novels, horror is a step to far haha. So today I will talk about scary books on my TBR, which might not exactly be horror books. Let’s jump in!
1.NOS4A2 – Joe Hill
There is a reason this is still on my TBR haha. It’s a big book and I think I will be terrified while reading it. But I do really want to read it as some point! Generally speaking I want to read a Joe Hill book and this one is high on my list.
2. Alice – Christina Henry
Another book that might be considered horror! I actually read the first chapter in a try a chapter tag and really enjoyed it. Much more than I was expecting to be honest haha. I would love to read this one this year.
3. A Stranger in the House – Shari Lapena
I own two Shari Lapena books and I’m really excited to read those. A friend of mine read them as well and she loved them, so I had to get them as well. Of course I haven’t read them yet because you know me haha. But I will!
4. The Wrong Train – Jeremy de Quidt
I got this one in London and read the first couple of chapters but wasn’t really into it. As some point I do want to read it as I think it would be a great Halloween read but I’m not in a hurry. Would love to know if someone read it and enjoyed it, so let me know!
5. The Good Daughter – Karin Slaughter
Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite writers, she writes really thrilling reads. But I haven’t read a book by her in years! And I can’t believe that. I have a couple of her books on my TBR and I really hope to read them soon because I miss them! They are brutal and some of the details make me nauseous but they’re also so so good!
And those are 5 books on my TBR. Some might be horror books, others definitely aren’t haha. Have you read any of them? Which one should I pick up first? Let me know down below!
I tried reading Nos4a2. It didn’t suit my taste, but I’ve heard great things about it! I really want to try Alice, but I keep putting it off.
I will definitely stop to read some of these books. They seem to be very interesting and as we love the genre, I will be happy to add your list to mine. Thanks.
