We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

The first week of January I didn’t have to go back to work yet and it was so nice to just chill and relax for a bit. I rode my horse, read books, watched an insane amount of tiktok and slept a lot haha. And I really needed that! I didn’t have to be anywhere most days and saw some friends on other days. Last week was my first week back at work and it started off chaotic right away haha. A colleague had covid so I had to cover his class on Monday and Thursday and of course all kinds of things went wrong haha. But I also had a lot of fun with the kids. And the other days I was back in front of my own classes which was nice. Last weekend I finally got a new car after the accident. I can pick it up next week and I’m so incredibly happy with it! It’s gorgeous and I can’t wait to ride around in it.

After I wrote my Can’t Wait Wednesday post about Portrait of a Thief I actually got an eARC for that one! I’m very excited and hope to read it before it releases.

This year I’ve already finished 4 books! I made the most of the last week of my holiday but haven’t been reading this past week because of work haha. Hopefully I can get back to reading more soon. I finished If This Gets Out, Bleach 1, The Witch’s House 1 and The Last Graduate. Currently I’m reading Only A Monster and House of Earth and Blood. And I hope to pick up Zodiac Academy soon as a bunch of my friends are reading it as well.

I haven’t seen a lot of bookish news but my eye caught two cover reveals I wanted to share with you. We got the cover for Love on the Brain which is Ali Hazelwood’s newest book and for Over My Dead Body, a graphic novel that looks stunning.

I have bought some things online and I hope they are delivered soon. They aren’t book related haha, but I will share them on the off change someone else is into some of my other hobbies haha.

I have been watching Sophia Bush’s new series; Good Sam and I really enjoy it. Of course I’m also watching the new season of Emily in Paris, almost done haha. After that I’m not sure what I want to watch on Netflix. Do you have any recommendations for me?

Since watching Encanto I have been listening to the soundtrack a lot haha. I especially love Surface Pressure and We Don’t Talk About Bruno (as does nearly half the world).
