Bookish Item| 2022 Five Star Predictions

It’s been quite some time since I’ve done this, but I thought it would be fun to talk about a few books I want to read in 2022 that I think will be five star reads. These will be a mix of new and older releases. Hopefully I’ll remember to come back to this post later this year to see if I was right about my five star predictions. Let’s take a look at a few books I’m hoping/expecting will be amazing!

Finlay Donovan Is Killing It – Elle Cosimano

If there’s one book I saw everywhere it’s definitely Finlay Donovan Is Killing It. This book has become a hit. When the main character is overheard talking about her new suspense novel it’s believed that she’s a contract killer. Let’s just say it sounds like things get out of hand. I’m really hoping to read this one in January! The sequel is releasing in February, so it’s time!

Mr. Wrong Number – Lynn Painter

After loving this author’s YA book Better Than the Movies (I read it twice last year) I would be surprised is Mr. Wrong Number doesn’t end up being a five star read. Steamy messages from a wrong number turn in to an anonymous relationship. When they find out who the other is things could get interesting.

We Contain Multitudes – Sarah Henstra

We Contain Multitudes is a book I was only made aware of a few months ago, but it sounds amazing. On top of an amazing cover the story sounds amazing. The fact that it’s told through letters has me thinking I’m going to love this story. I have a feeling it’s going to be emotional, but amazing!

Legendborn – Tracy Deonn

I’m actually surprised I haven’t read Legendborn yet honestly. Another book that’s been all over the place. A book with a secret society, hunting creatures, and magic? That sounds like a book I need in my life. The sequel is releasing this year, so I hope to get to Legendborn really soon.

Yes & I Love You – Roni Loren

Yes & I Love You is a book I’ve seen all over bookstagram and it’s had raving reviews. Also, it sounds like a book I’ll love. Also, our main character is a reviewer. Even if it’s not for books I love when characters have a passion.

Book Lovers – Emily Henry

An editor and literary agent as main characters? That sounds like something I’ll love. Books about books or book lovers are always something I need to read. Emily Henry is an amazing author, so I have high expectations for Book Lovers.

Lore Olympus Vol. 1 – Rachel Smythe

As a fan of graphic novels I’ve been excited about Lore Olympus. This was actually on WebToons first, but has become a physical book. The drawings are stunning and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this story. Lore Olympus is going to be one of those books that I know I’ll finish in one sitting.

The Darkness Outside Us – Eliot Schrefer

Two boys alone in space that must work together to survive. At first I wasn’t really sure this was a book for me. That was until I saw an amazing review on TikTok caught my attention. I’m expecting quite the ride and I’m so excited to start reading.

Delilah Green Doesn’t Care – Ashley Herring Blake

The first line of the synopsis states that Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is “a clever and steamy queer romantic comedy”. Sign me up! I’ve read middle grade books by this author and they blew me away, so to say I’m excited for an adult romance is an understatement.

So here are ten books I’m really hoping turn out to be 5 star reads. Do you have any books on your TBR this year you’re expecting to be 5 star reads? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
