We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Happy New Year! As you’re reading this I hope I have recovered from New Year’s Eve haha. I’m getting older and that really shows after I’ve been drinking. New Year’s Eve was a super fun night and I really enjoyed myself. We drank champagne and I spiced up a gin with winter spices so we also had some great gin&tonics. I spend the evening with friends and we build a bonfire.

Last week I also celebrated Christmas. Christmas Eve was spend with my parents and brother as was Christmas Day. In the Netherlands we have ‘First Christmas Day’ and ‘Second Christmas Day’ (like Boxing Day in the UK). So the second day my aunt and uncle and my cousins came over. We had a wonderful time, eat great food and played games. Over the years people added a third Christmas Day and this year I spend that with friends cooking a really nice meal. We plan on doing this every year!

I got one very exciting new eARC! The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi and I couldn’t be more excited. I think this will be an amazing read and plan on reading it in the first half of the year. Hopefully it’s as good as I hope it will be.

I only finished two graphic novel since the last Royal Update unfortunately; Fangs and Chef’s Kiss. While I was still reading If This Gets Out I didn’t read that much so I haven’t finished it yet. One of my next reads is going to be House of Earth and Blood, I want to finally finish before the second book releases!

Does this count as bookish news? I vote yes haha. We got a date announcement for the second season of Bridgerton! I’m very excited for it! After reading the first book, I don’t think I will read the rest of the series but never say never ;).

Yesterday I went to Lidl and they had Harry Potter pyjamas and socks so I got a couple for myself. You can never have too many socks in my opinion haha.

I haven’t been watching that much series these past two weeks. It was busy and I haven’t been home that much haha. But I have gotten into Drive to Survive (finally). I’m almost done with the second season, hopefully they will release the fourth season soon!

I have been listening to my own playlist a lot. After a quick look I saw I mentioned this one in my last Royal Update as well. I love collecting songs all throughout the year and see what music influenced me during that year.
