Royal Update #104

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Things haven’t been exciting lately I’ve been busy working. Which is always the case right before Christmas. I did have quite the adventure last week. I take the train to and from work and got kind of stranded when there were quite a few issues. Thankfully the boyfriend could come pick me up. It was so cold, so I was very happy to get in the car and head home.

We also celebrated Christmas this past weekend. It was a nice relaxing day with my boyfriend and mother. We had a nice relaxing day. We exchanged gifts, had a relaxing afternoon, and ended the day with a nice meal. Yesterday was his birthday and that was celebrated with a nice meal with his parents and my mother. It’s so weird that Christmas is all over for the year. There really are only a few days left in 2021.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve only added three new ARCs to my Kind. I’m pretty proud of myself. It does help that with the holidays are slower and publishers are closed.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading The Naughty The Nice and the Nanny, All I Want for Christmas is the Girl Next Door, Window Shopping, Three Bells Two Bows and One Brother’s Best Friend, The Christmas Bookshop, A History of Wild Places, and Duke, Actually.

I’m currently reading If This Gets Out, People We Meet on Vacation, The Fine Print, and I Wish it Could Be Christmas Everyday.

We’re heading in the last week of the year and I’m hoping to finish a few books I’ve started, but haven’t yet finished: The Replacement Crush, Blood & Honey, and Hang the Moon.

As for bookish news I have two cover reveals that caught my eye in the past few days. I’m really excited for both of these books. If I’m correct they’ll both release in 2022 (and that isn’t that far away anymore).

I haven’t really bought anything for myself these last few weeks. I did order some post-its for some bookish plans I have, but they haven’t arrived yet. So I can’t show them until they do. So keep an eye out for those soon. I got lots of pretty colors.

So I finished the seasons of The Wheel of Time and Hawkeye. What a ride for both shows. I do have to say that I enjoyed the finale of Hawkeye better than The Wheel of Time. I’ve read the books, so it’s weird to see some of the changes that they’ve made. I’m curious to see how the second season will go though.

The sixth and final season of This is Us is starting soon, so I’m finally watching the fifth season. I love this show, but I forgot how emotional it can be.

Seeing how it was Christmas last weekend I’ve still had Christmas music on repeat. I think starting this week I’ll be listening to my top songs of 2021 though. It’s always fun to look back at stuff like that.
