Besides my Netgalley backlist posts I also try and track my physical TBR. That’s not always an easy task. There are so many books I want to read, but just not enough time. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Planned to Read in 2021. Candyce did that topic last week as well, and today I want to show 5 off the books I planned on reading this year. Since we only have a couple of days left, I’m confident I won’t be reading these in 2021. Hopefully I will read them in 2022! Let’s take a look.
1.House of Earth and Blood – Sarah J. Maas
I’ve read at least a quarter of this book already, but possibly even more. And I really wanted to continue reading it in 2021. I will say, my heart has already been broken by this book and I’m just really scared to keep going. At the end I will probably love it but it’s going to hurt a lot first….
2. Skyward – Brandon Sanderson
I have so many Brandon Sanderson books to read… The plan was to read Skyward this year, Candyce and I even planned out our buddy read. But I totally bailed on her haha. I wanted to read a ton of Brandon Sanderson books last year as well, hopefully I can cross a couple of in 2022.
3. Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
I adore Leigh Bardugo but the reviews have scared me off for this one I think. A couple of months ago I did actually start reading it, but it was one of those times were nothing drew me in right away so I never kept going. I do really want to read it though, it sounds like something I will enjoy and I just want to experience it.
4. Blessed Monsters – Emily A. Duncan
I planned on reading this as soon as I got it in the mail. And somehow I never did! I loved the first book, enjoyed the second one and have high hopes for this last one. It would also be great to finally cross off a series again haha.
5. Escaping From Houdini & Capturing the Devil – Kerri Maniscalco
Talking about finishing series, I really wanted to read both of these so I could cross this one off the list. I didn’t love the first book but everyone said the second one was better. And while I did enjoy it, I still didn’t love the series. But the title of book 3 sounded amazing and I just both all the books haha. Now I just have to power through and hope book 3&4 are the best in the series.
And those were 5 (or actually 6) books I planned on reading in 2021 but didn’t. I really hope I can read these in 2022 and should try to remind myself of them through out the year. Hopefully this will be the year I shrink my TBR….
I feel the same way about Ninth House. I’ve tried a couple times to get into it but I just can’t. I’m not sure if it’s me or the book. Like I REALLY want to read it but then I keep putting it off to the side! D:
