The last Down the TBR Hole was written a couple of days after I wrote Down the TBR Hole #65. It’s now been a couple of weeks and I’m happy to say that I haven’t added any new books to my want to read shelf on Goodreads. So I’m going to continue to tackle my Goodreads TBR.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 854 (my last post ended at 854. So no new books added, so yay me for now, haha.)
The Betrayals – Bridget Collins
I have to say even before I knew what this was about I wanted The Betrayals for the cover, haha. Just look at how pretty it is. Also, this book takes place at an academy. I didn’t need to know more!
Keep
The Project – Courtney Summers
A thriller that has to do with cults? That definitely sounds like something I need to give a go. I’ve been enjoying darker books more lately, so I have to definitely sit down and read this one. I know Isabelle thought it was okay, so I’ll see where I end up when I’m done.
Keep
Fallen City – Adrienne Young
This seems to be an announced start of a series for next year. Other than a little description there isn’t much on Goodreads, so I’m removing this for now.
Remove
Make Up Break Up – Lily Menon
I’m a big fan of enemies to lovers romances and this one seems like fun. Make Up Break Up has some mixed reviews, so I’m curious, but not going into it with really high expectations.
Keep
Reason to Believe – Rebecca Yarros
Rebecca Yarros is a favorite author of mine. Reason to Believe was put on Goodreads and I added it to my want to read list quite some time ago. No new information has been given, so I’ll just remove it from my list until I know it’s going to be a book that releases.
Remove
You Have a Match – Emma Lord
You Have a Match is actually one of my most anticipated releases of 2021 and I’m ashamed to say I haven’t read it yet, haha. I can’t imagine what it’s like finding out you have a sister you didn’t know about. I love contemporary books, so I know this one is going to be one I love.
Keep
Little Creeping Things – Chelsea – Ichaso
Little Creeping Things is a book I’ve said I’ll read for Halloween the past two years, but still haven’t read. I don’t know why, because it sounds really good. Even though the cover is creepy.
Keep
The Princess Will Save You – Sarah Henning
The title was the first thing that caught my attention about this book. Princesses should be the heroes as well. I love books with royalty and politics, so The Princess Will Save You needs to stick around.
Keep
Where We Went Wrong – Kelsey Kingsley
Kelsey Kingsley is one of my favorite authors and knows how to hit you in all the feels. Her stories are original and unique and they don’t let you go. One of the only books I haven’t read is Where We Went Wrong. This is going to be very emotional, but I know it’s going to be worth every minute of reading.
Keep
Reconnected – Catherine Tinker
Even though I remember the premise of this book sounding really interesting, choosing to remove this book from my list was easy. According to Goodreads the author had the book pulled from publishing.

Removal Percentage: 30%
Current “to-read” shelf: 851
This week I was able to remove three books from my want to read shelf. I’m calling that a win for me even if two are books that haven’t released yet and one that was canceled by the author. Have you read any of the others? Should I have made a different decision? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you enjoy The Betrayals! It is a very unique and unusual book, but well written. And I agree, the cover is superb 😍
