Can’t Wait Wednesday | My Imaginary Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows

We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

It’s aliiiiiiiive! The bestselling authors of My Lady Jane are back with the electric, poetic, and (almost) historical tale of the one and only Mary Shelley.

Mary may have inherited the brilliant mind of her late mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, but she lives a drab life above her father’s bookstore, waiting for an extraordinary idea that’ll inspire a work worthy of her parentage—and impress her rakishly handsome (and super-secret) beau, Percy Shelley.

Ada Lovelace knows a thing or two about superstar parents, what with her dad being Lord Byron. But her passions lie beyond the arts—in mechanical engineering, to be exact. Alas, no matter how precise Ada’s calculations, there’s always a man willing to claim her ingenious ideas as his own.

When fate (er, fae) connects our two masterminds, they learn their talents are rare indeed—because their parents were two of the most powerful fae to have ever lived. And with the right training from a fae godmother, they can achieve anything they dare to imagine. But when their dream team accidentally-on-purpose results in a living, breathing, thinking automaton, Mary and Ada face a villain of Gothic proportions. . . .

After finishing My Contrary Mary last week I just had to do my next Can’t Wait Wednesday on My Imaginary Mary. Not too long ago I shared the cover in my Royal Update, I really love it. Pink is a favorite color of mine and I think it just looks great. I can’t wait to add it to my collection.

Overall I just love the Jane and Mary books so I’m excited for every instalment. But this one sounds really good. I’m intrigued by Mary Shelley and I can’t wait to see what the authors did with her story. They always make it fun and I laugh out loud multiple times while reading any of these books.

I’m also very excited about the fae part! These ladies have done shapeshifters, ghosts and werewolves, and now we’re onto fae. I hope they do them justice but I’m not expecting their fae to be as cruel as I like it. Nevertheless, I’m very excited! What about you? Let me know down below!
