Once again it’s time for our scariest post of the month! We take a look back at our bookhaul from the year before to see if we’ve read the books we added to our shelves that month. Today we’ll be looking back at our haul from October 2020. Have we read what we received? Keep on reading this month’s Looking Back at Our Bookhauls to find out!

So last October I added 6 books to my shelves. That wasn’t too bad. Let’s see how many I’ve read. I don’t think this is my worst month when it comes to looking back at our hauls.
The Tigers in the Tower – Julia Golding
Read
The Tigers in the Tower is a book I received for the tour TBR and Beyond Tours hosted. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this one at all. The blurb and actual story didn’t really match in my opinion.
A Deadly Education – Naomi Novik
Unread/Currently Reading
A Deadly Education is one I’m surprised I haven’t finished yet. I actually started reading this one earlier this year and have read about a third of the book I think. What I’ve read so far has been really interesting. I know Isabelle loved this and the sequel released recently, so I need to get this one finished.
Cemetery Boys – Aiden Thomas
Unread/Currently Reading
Cemetery Boys is another book I’ve actually started reading, but haven’t finished yet. Oops! I started reading this one when I was busy reading way too many books. Just like with A Deadly Education I need to make sure to finish this one soon.
Skyhunter – Marie Lu
Unread/Currently Reading
Another book from this haul that I have started, but didn’t finish yet. My reading year started off a bit chaotic and I notice that mostly by the fact I’ve started so many books but tend to not finish them all while I’m enjoying them. Skyhunter is stunning and I was enjoying the story. The sequel to this one is out as well, so I need to hurry up!
Spoiler Alert – Olivia Dade
Read
Spoiler Alert ended up being one of my favorite books last year and I even recently did a re-read. This book is just so amazing and I’ve been anxiously awaiting the sequel that will be releasing in a few weeks. Spoiler Alert has romance, amazing characters, humor, fan fiction, cosplay, and so much more!
The Roommate – Rosie Danan
Read
The Roommate is a romance I really ended up enjoying and wondering why it took me so long to finally read it. There were definitely some elements that surprised me, but I also love how these things were handled. I really need to make time for the sequel.

October 2020 was a month I finally bought some books again. I got two new books I was super excited about, so you can probably guess whether I read them or not ;). Let’s take a look.
Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend
unread
I can’t believe I still haven’t read this one. The first two books in the Nevermoor series are amazing and I had been looking forward to this one since finishing book 2. I adore the covers and I just know I will love this one. Now I just need to read it…
Lair of Dreams – Libba Bray
unread
I really enjoyed The Diviners and wanted to read the rest of the series right away. So of course I haven’t yet… By now I own the first three books so I should get on it pretty soon. That way I can finally finish some series….
End Result
Read: 0/2 – 0%
TBR: 2/2 – 100%
So that’s this month’s Looking Back at Our Bookhauls. Have you read any of the books we added to our shelves last October? Let us know what you thought of them in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
I have Deadly Education (and its new sequel) on my AudioTBR too. (The audiobook version is quite neat, if you’re looking for a change in format.) I have high hopes from this since Novik is one of my favorite SFF authors.

Spoiler Alert sounds so cute, and I find The Roommate quite original, interesting story line, and great for sex shaming
I’m too afraid to look back at the books from an October 2020 haul, as hubby picked me up quite a few for my birthday. And I don’t think I’ve read any, other than the Christmas books.
