Bookish Item| Popular Books on TikTok I Want to Read

I’m sure most people in the bookish community know about TikTok these days. Instagram has Bookstagram and now we also have BookTok on Tiktok. Some books are getting a lot of attention on there lately, so I want to talk about some of those. Today I’m going to talk about some of the popular books on TikTok I want to read!

A Touch of Darkness – Scarlett St. Clair

A Touch of Darkness is a book I heard about quite a bit even before I saw it on TikTok. This is a Hades and Persephone retelling. I don’t know everything about that story, but I’m very intrigued. There are three books out now, so hopefully I enjoy this one!

People We Meet on Vacation – Emily Henry

I recently read Beach Read and it surprised me in a positive way. It wasn’t all light and fluffy as I thought it would be and has made me curious about Emily Henry’s other books. People We Meet on Vacation is another one I’ve seen everywhere lately. People We Meet on Vacation follows two best friends who go on vacation together every year. It seems something has gone wrong and this vacation is taken in the hopes to make things right.

The Midnight Library – Matt Haig

The Midnight Library is another book I’ve heard amazing things about before it got hyped on TikTok. A library inside of a library that holds books that will show you how your life would’ve been if you had made different choices. This is such an interesting concept.

Credence – Penelope Douglas

To be honest I’m not sure if Credence is going to be the book for me. I’ve heard it’s pretty dark and see a lot of mixed reviews. Something has me interested though, so maybe I’ll at least give it a try?

The Atlas Six – Olivia Blake

The Atlas Six is an independently published book that has now gotten so much attention it’s being traditionally published. I’m a big fan of dark academia books, so The Atlas Six is one on my list. A secret society with powerful magicians. Sounds good to me!

A Court of Silver Flames – Sarah J Maas

We all know this one was very popular even before TikTok and I’ve actually read like the first ten chapters of A Court of Silver Flames. It’s a bigger book and I really just need to take the time and sit down to continue with this series. I’m so curious about Nesta’s story.

Flock – Kate Stewart

Flock is another book that I’m not completely sure is for me, but that has me really intrigued. This also seems like a darker book and to be honest I’m not sure at all where this story will go. I’ll just have to give it a go to find out.

The Love Hypothesis – Ali Hazelwood

The Love Hypothesis is a book with one of my favorite tropes: fake dating! I’m actually reading it this month and a few of my friends have read and loved this book. Hopefully it meets all of my expectations.

Birthday Girl – Penelope Douglas

Again another book on my list I’m not completely sure I’ll love, but that I’m just really curious about. It’s another darker book and I guess I’m just not sure where my boundaries are with that again? I’ll just have to read it and find out.

A Deal with the Elf King – Elise Kova

I’ve actually read a few books by Elise Kova and have enjoyed them. A Deal with the Elf King is also another one that was on my radar before it got pretty popular. I’ve seen the hardcover edition to this one and it’s stunning!! I’m definitely interested, because this book is inspired by Hades and Persephone, but also by Beauty and the Beast.

Okay, so there are a lot of popular books on TikTok right now. I’ve read a lot of them and these are just a few I’ve seen lately on account I watch. Have you read any of these? If so, what books should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
