Out of all the posts we do for the blog Looking Back at Our Bookhauls is probably the scariest, haha. What did we read from the books we bought the month before? This time we’re looking back at our bookhaul from August 2020. How did we do? Keep on reading to find out!

It was a pleasant surprise to see I only bought four books last August. So it’s not as bad as most months. Let’s see if I’m read any of these books since I bought them.
The House in the Cerulean Sea – TJ Klune
Read
The House in the Cerulean Sea is such a special book! I read it and loved every minute. The characters are all amazing and it really hits you in all the feels. I really want to do a re-read before the end of the year. I may try the audiobook this time around!
Seven Devils – Elizabeth May & Laura Lam
Unread
I really need to get better at reading my Illumicrate books, haha. Seven Devils is the first book in a space opera duology. I’ve been enjoying reading science fiction more lately and Seven Devils sounds right up my alley. Also, this edition is just stunning!
Cinderella is Dead – Kalynn Bayron
Read
Retellings are a lot of fun and this was my first Cinderella retelling. Cinderella is Dead had me hooked from the start and I really enjoyed these characters. My only issue about this book was it felt just a little rushed. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if there was a second book. Certain aspects just deserve more attention.
Bookish and the Beast – Ashley Poston
Unread
I’ve said it before, but Geekerella was a really fun book! Last year I started The Princess and the Fangirl on audio, but it just wasn’t working for me. So I need to grab my paperback and finish that so I can read Bookish and the Beast. They can be read separately, but I like reading in order in case things from previous books are mentioned.

So I was scared to look back and thought I would take a look two weeks in advance so I could quickly try and read one or two books from that haul haha. But, look at that, I didn’t buy any new books in August 2020, haha. That made this a very easy post for me. I did take a quick peek at next month’s post in the hope to get a jump on that haul but I won’t share just yet ;).
August 2020 definitely wasn’t as bad as it normally is, haha. Have you read any of the books Candyce got? What did you think? We’d love to hear from you!
