5 On My TBR| Books Set at Boarding Schools

Tracking your TBR is pretty important when it’s quite large, haha. Besides Down the TBR Hole and my Netgalley Backlist I needed something to track my physical TBR. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme is hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.

This week’s topic is a Back to School Freebie. So I decided to talk about books that take place at my favorite bookish setting: boarding schools. So let’s take a look at 5 books on my TBR that are set at boarding schools.

The Last of August – Brittany Cavallaro

A Study in Charlotte is a book I read quite some time ago and since then I’ve added the rest of the series on my shelf. The Last of August is the next book in this Sherlock Holmes retelling. I may need to read the first book again before diving back into this world.

The Vanishing Stair – Maureen Johnson

Truly Devious was a book I truly enjoyed and to be honest I have no clue why I haven’t read The Vanishing Stair yet. I can’t wait to read more of Stevie’s adventures and about the murders she’s discovered. I’m looking forward to trying to put together the puzzle while our main character does.

Legendborn – Tracy Deonn

Legendborn is a book I’ve heard so many amazing things about. This doesn’t take place at your typical boarding school, but a residential program is something I’ll count toward this topic. Unique magic and a secret society definitely sound like things I need to know more about.

All These Beautiful Strangers – Elizabeth Klehfoth

All These Beautiful Strangers has been on my TBR for way too long, haha. There is a secret society at a school and dark family secrets. Those are two things that always catch my attention. Isabelle has this one as well, so maybe a buddy read will be an option in the near future.

Plain Bad Heroines – Emily M. Danforth

Plain Bad Heroines is a book I’ve seen a lot on Instagram lately and I have to say I’m intrigued. It takes place at The Brookhants School for Girls. There’s also a secret society? It’s  a big book, but I’m hoping it’s one I can’t put down.

So these are five books on my TBR that are set at boarding schools! Have you read any of these? What did you think? Let me know in the comments! Also, if you have a favorite book set at a boarding school let me know. I’m always looking for more books with this setting!

    1. Oh. that’s good to know! I’m so excited to read them both.

  1. I’ve loved books about boarding schools since I was really young and read Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers books. I was so mad that my mum and dad wouldn’t send me to boarding school! There are some great looking books here, most of which are already on my tbr!

    1. That’s such a fun story! I totally agree about wanting to have experienced it. I hope we both enjoy these books.
