Before 2021 started both Candyce and I set ourselves some reading goals. 2020 was not a great reading year for me so I didn’t do great on those goals. But I did set some goals for 2021 again. And since we’re half way through the year I thought it would be great to take a look and see how I’m doing so far. To be honest, I’m not completely sure which goals I set for myself so this is also a good reminder. But I do have an inkling and you could say I’m worried haha. Let’s take a look!

Goodreads | read 100 books

This is probably the only goal I’m feeling good about haha. I’ve read 53 books so far this year. Since we’re a little past the halfway point it looks like I’m actually going to reach this goal somewhere towards the end of December. Hopefully I can read a lot this summer so I can get ahead but as long as I stay on track I’m happy!

Netgalley | get the feedback ratio up to 80%

I’m scared to even check…. At the start of the year I had a feedback ratio of 37%. And I still have the same ratio now haha. I guess that’s not too bad considering I have gotten quite some eARC’s lately. But it’s also not great since I’m nowhere close to 80%. Doing some quick math shows that I need to read 52 eARC’s to get to 80% and that’s definitely not going to happen. I would love to get to at least 50%. That means 16 books, I think I might be able to manage that this year!

Physical TBR/Backlist Books | 50 backlist books

Well…… I’ve read 17 books from my shelves and those weren’t all backlist books. Like not even half were haha. I’m actually okay with that but I would still love to lower my TBR by the end of the year. That means I have to read 9 more books and however many new books I’ll get. Which hopefully won’t be to many. It sounds manageable! Let’s hope I can actually lower my TBR this year ;).

Series | finishing 12 series

This goal has been one I set myself every year. And I have never reached it haha. For someone who loves reading series, I do suck at finishing them haha. So far I finished 3. And while I will finish some more I don’t think I’ll be able to finish 9 more. Let’s shoot for 6 more! One a month, should be doable right?

So that was my reading goal update! I’m not doing great but I am on track with my main goal of reading a 100 books. And I’m really happy with that.
