Bookhaul | June 2021

It’s the first of July which means it’s time to look back at last month. We’re starting off with our July bookhaul. What books did we add to our collections? With so many new books releasing every month it’s always hard to resist ordering more. If you want to see what we got, keep on reading.

June didn’t go completely as planned, haha. Then again I guess I say that most months. Oops! In June I added 8 books to my shelves. A few anticipated releases, my monthly Illumicrate book and a couple of spontaneous orders. Let’s see what I got.

A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir

I started the An Ember in the Ashes series quite a long time ago, but didn’t continue after the second book. A friend of mine was doing a buddy read with another friend and I decided to join when they got to A Reaper at the Gates. I’m glad I picked this one up, because it was action packed!!

One Last Stop – Casey McQuiston

As a big fan of Red, White and Royal Blue I’ve been anxiously awaiting this author’s next book. One Last Stop is finally here and I plan on reading it this month. And look at this gorgeous cover.

The Jasmine Throne – Tasha Suri

Illumicrate’s May pick was The Jasmine Throne. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this book and the special edition is stunning! I’m hoping to fit this one in soon.

The Darkness Outside Us – Eliot Schrefer

The Darkness Outside Us was one of my spontaneous orders in June. When I heard about this book and first read the synopsis it didn’t really sound like it was for me. Then I saw a review for it that really changed my mind. I’ll definitely be reading this soon.

Heartstopper Vol. 4 – Alice Oseman

I loved the first two volumes of Heartstopper and loved them! A couple of weeks ago I finally sat down and read the vol. 3 and was happy to see that vol. 4 was available to buy. This is definitely one I’ll be reading in the near future.

Grace and Glory – Jennifer L. Armentrout

Since reading the last line of Rage and Ruin I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this book. It released at the beginning of June, but I only got my copy at the end of the month after there was a little delay. I’ll finally be able to finish another series.

Tokyo Ever After – Emiko Jean

Tokyo Ever After is a book I’ve been seeing everywhere and there have been quite a few good reviews. As a contemporary fan I couldn’t resist adding this one to my shelves.

Crazy Rich Girlfriend – Kevin Kwan

In June I finally read Crazy Rich Asians after having it on my shelf for way too long, haha. There was so much drama, but it was so good!! I definitely need to continue, so I got the second book.

Isabelle

I got a gift card for helping with the Open Day at my college so of course I spent it on books haha. There are so many books I wanted to get, but in the end I picked up two books. A graphic novel and a paperback. Let’s take a look.

Heartstopper vol. 4 – Alice Oseman

I adore this graphic novel series so much! The first ones made it to my favorites lists of the last couple of years and I was so excited for this newest release. I’m sure I will adore this and plan on reading it soon.

Jade City – Fonda Lee

I have been hearing so much about this series and it sounds like just my kind of book. The third book in the series is coming out later this year so it’s the perfect time to hop on the bandwagon.

So that’s it for our June bookhaul! Have you read any of the books we got? What did you think? Also, what did you get in June? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
