Down the TBR Hole #54

Okay, I was doing really good with not adding that many books to my Goodreads want-to-read shelf, but in the past two weeks I’ve added 11. Oops! So I can definitely say it’s good I’m still doing these posts every other week!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Current “to-read” shelf: 829 (my last post ended at 818, so these couple of weeks didn’t go completely as planned…)

Clique Bait – Ann Valett

To be honest when I read the synopsis I’m not too sure about this one anymore. I’ve also read some mixed reviews. I always still let myself read to find out what I think, but a girl looking for revenge in high school just doesn’t call to me at the moment.

The Long Distance Playlist – Tara Eglington

How could I forget this one? I’m a big fan of books that are told through instant messenger conversations, emails and texts, so I know I’m going to love this. It’ll be interesting to see the characters get close again using these mediums.

Keep

Fable – Adrienne Young

Okay, I’m not a big fan of people on covers, but the covers of Fable and Namesake are stunning! I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about this story. What could be wrong with a fantasy book with pirates?!?

Keep

Dear Sweet Pea – Julie Murphy

This is a case of I’ve read this book, but it’s another edition. I enjoyed this middle grade book that deals with divorce and how life can change afterwards. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it. You can read my review here.

Remove

Dating Washington – Ann Maree Craven

I enjoyed meeting Asher in Dating Nashville. This author writes books you read in no time! I have this one, but I don’t know if I’ll be getting around to it anytime soon.

Remove

Avenged by Love & Damaged Desires- LJ Evans

The post is being easy on me this week. I’ve read both Avenged by Love & Damaged Desires, but a different edition. Click on the titles for my reviews. I can’t recommend these books or this author enough. She writes amazing books!!

Remove

Christmas Shopaholic – Sophie Kinsella

Another book I’ve already read, but have a different edition on my want-to-read shelf. I loved the Shopaholic books. They were funny and fast reads. So if you give me a holiday related one I can say I was excited. Unfortunately, this one was a little disappointing.

Remove

Super Adjacent – Crystal Cestari

Books with superheroes are always interesting to read and it seems like Super Adjacent will give us a new and interesting take on this subject. I’m always looking for books filled with banter and some romance.

Keep

The Places I’ve Cried in Public – Holly Bourne

This will definitely be a keep. I actually bought a really pretty paperback edition of this book with sprayed edges. I know this book will be emotional and will probably make me cry, but it sounds like a book for me.

Keep

Removal Percentage: 60%
Current “to-read” shelf: 823

So that was an easy one this week. It definitely helps when I’ve read quite a few books in this Down the TBR Hole. What do you think of my choices? Have you ever read any of these? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have. Let me know in the comments!
