Royal Update #73

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

This week’s life update is actually a bit more exciting than usual. Well I worked a little extra than normal. And unfortunately my hand isn’t getting much better, so it’s back to the doctor for me this week. I’m hoping for something to help, because I’m definitely done with it.

And now to the exciting part! I got to visit the bookstore for the first time in a year on Thursday!! They were closed for over 5 months and before that I didn’t really go anywhere if I didn’t need to. Everything is slowly starting to open here and a friend and I were planning on going at the end of the month. Instead it became a spontaneous trip and it felt so good. I bought 9 books and I’ll be posting about them soon!

Since last time I received five ARCs and I’m excited about all of them. I’ll be participating in blog tours for all of these and I’m really excited!

Since my last Royal Update I read The Tea Dragon Society, Prom Theory, From the Desk of Zoe Washington, Things to Do Before the End of the World, Six of Crows, School of the Dead, Don’t Look Behind You and House of Hollow.

I’m currently reading The Roommate, Crooked Kingdom, Better Than the Movies, Spirit Hunters and Red Queen.

This week I’ll be picking up Firekeeper’s Daughter, Dead Voices, He’ll Be Waiting, Eva Evergreen and Arsenic and Adobo.

I actually don’t think there was really any bookish news that stuck with me this week. At least not enough for me to remember it to be able to talk about it here today, haha. Better luck next time!

I bought books, but those are for our haul at the beginning of next month. Other than that I haven’t bought anything else.

Since my last Royal Update I finished watching Shadow and Bone. I really loved what they did with the show. This is one I’ll definitely be anxiously awaiting until we get the next season.

I also watched the movie The Map of Tiny Perfect Things. This was such a touching movie without becoming cheesy. I’m really glad the boyfriend and I decided to watch it. It’s based on a novella that I may just have to pick up. I wouldn’t mind reading it as well.

I’ve actually been going down memory lane since I discovered Spotify has playlists for top hits per year. So I started with 2001. Why I don’t know. I guess it was the first one that I came across. I forgot about so many of these songs. Do you see any favorites?

So that’s my Royal Update for this week! How have you been? Read anything interesting lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
