We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Places In Books I’d Love to Live. It sounds like an easy enough topic but I think it might be harder than expected. Let’s see which places I picked!
1. The House on the Cerulean Sea
Both the family and the spot in the House on the Cerulean Sea stole my heart recently and I would love to join them. Those kids are amazing and I adored the little romance going on. This book lived up to all the hype and was actually better than I personally thought it would be.
2. Tokyo (Warcross style)
I would love to see Tokyo in general but having Warcross there as well would make it even more perfect. The game in Warcross sounds so so cool and I actually wished we got more of it in the book. I really enjoyed reading about it and can you imagine actually being there? Yes please!
3. Caïro (A Dead Djinn in Caïro style)
This is a recent world I have fallen in love with. We have a historical Caïro (and Egypt) but with supernatural beings and magic. I adored the first two novella’s set in this world and I can’t wait for the full length novel coming out this year.
4. The Witchlands
I really liked the magical world of the Witchlands. Of course it’s not super great politically speaking but I hope it will end up being the world I think it can be after 5 books haha. I could totally see myself living there, granted that I’d be a witch as well obviously ;).
5. New Orleans
New Orleans is very high up on my travel wishlist. And after reading Bridge of Souls and The Damned that got confirmed for me. I loved reading about New Orleans as a spooky setting and I’m sure I would love to live there for a while. Hopefully I can actually visit New Orleans soon!
6. Scotland
I’ve wanted to go to Scotland for ages and after reading and watching Outlander that urge has gotten stronger and stronger. The nature is gorgeous and I love to hear people talking Scottish. I will definitely go there at some point and hope it happens soon.
7. Space (The long way to a small angry planet style)
Ofcourse space is a very broad term. But I love the universe in the long way to a small angry planet and I would love to live on a planet or even on a spaceship there. There is so much diversity in species and it was amazing to read about. I can only imaging how amazing it would be to actually be there.
8. Khorasan
This might not ring a bell right away but Khorasan is the Caliphate in The Wrath and the Dawn. I love this duology with all my heart and I would love to visit Khorasan. Of course after the events of the duology, because it was a bit to dangerous for my liking haha. I’m always hungry after reading these books and I would love to taste all the food for real.
9. London
I loved living in London and I would move back there in a heartbeat. London as a setting in books is one of my favorite things, I especially love Victoria Schwab’s four Londons. But I also love Shadowhunter London and Victorian murder-city London. I could read about this city for ever and still not tire of it.
10. Hogwarts
I just had to mention this one. While there is some very needed critiquing of the series going on, I would still love to be part of it. Especially the inclusive world most of the fans created. I don’t think I really have to explain this one, do I?

I managed to find 10 amazing places I would love to live at for a while. At the very least I would love to go there but living there would be great. A girl can dream right ;). What is a place you would love to live at? Let me know in the comments!
Hogwarts! Now, how could I have forgotten that? It’s been ages since I last read Harry potter, that’s why, but what a fever it used to me. 🙂 I’ve heard great things about Djinn in Cairo, which makes it one more reason to visit Egypt. And Tokyo during sakura season would be lovely. ~Lex![My Profile](https://thebookdutchesses.com/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

Scotland is beautiful, I have Scottish family and went to Uni there, it’s a lovely place to live. I go to London quite a lot as I live fairly close (and am originally from there) and I’m hoping to move back at some point soon (we were meant to move last year but obviously: pandemic). I’d love visit New Orleans, it sounds great, the food and the music are definitely big draws for me. I’d also like to go to Cairo, Egypt sounds beautiful and I’d love to see it.![My Profile](https://thebookdutchesses.com/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

YESS to Scotland. I’ve always wanted to go there. The food, the beautiful landscape. One day! I love your addition of the Witchlands. I am just about to start that series!
Hogsmeade was on our list. Hogwarts would be neat, too.

New Orleans would be somewhere I’d love to visit! I think Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon’s books are to blame for that fixation but it’s there now so one day I’ll go to visit. 🙂
I’m going to admit that I sat for about a minute trying to puzzle out what you mean by talking Scottish… Scottish is just a dialect of English unless it’s Scot’s Gaelic? Either way, that one passes over my head. (Probably because I’m Scottish and to me, it’s just talking. 😉🤣🙃)
I hope you get to visit some of your list someday. 🙂
Haha, I realise I didn’t write that down as I should’ve! I meant with a Scottish accent! I could listen to that all day long <3.
Hope we both get to go the New Orleans <3
