As I said I’ve been wanting to keep going with these posts. I’m hoping that this keeps my
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 818 (my last post ended at 811, okay, I have to admit this is better than I thought…)
Guardians of Dawn – S. Jae-Jones
It says on Goodreads that this is an expected 2022 release, but nothing is known except for a small synopsis. So for now I’m going to take this one off my list
Remove
Instant Gratification – Lauren Blakely
For some reason I’ve marked the third book in the series as want to read and have only read the first one. I enjoy this author’s books, but I don’t know when I’ll be reading this and I have so many romances on my TBR.
Remove
Scared Little Rabbits – A.V. Geiger
I loved Follow Me Back, so I was really excited to see this book announced. This one is actually physically on my shelf now. People I know who’ve read it have had some mixed reviews, but I’m still curious.
Keep
Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend
This is definite keep and it’s not something I have to think about. I loved the first two books and will hopefully be diving back into this magical world very soon. My plan is to read this during middle grade May.
Keep
The Binding – Bridget Collins
Yay! A case of I’ve already read this book, but I saved a different version. The Binding is a book I really enjoyed and it was definitely not what I was expecting, but in a good way. It definitely made me think.
Remove
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes – Suzanne Collins
I remember being really excited when this author announced there would be a prequel to The Hunger Games. That’s one of my favorite trilogies. When they announced who this story would be about I personally wasn’t really interested anymore. If I read this one I highly doubt it will be anytime soon.
Remove
Tarnished are the Stars – Rosiee Thor
The Lunar Chronicles meets Rook sounds really interesting. I’ve only read the first one, but Rook is definitely a book that interests me. Tarnished are the Stars is one that does still sound interesting to me.
Keep
The Boy in the Red Dress – Kristin Lambert
Murder Mysteries are something I’m really starting to enjoy. Add the fact that this is also partially historical fiction definitely caught my attention. Not many people I know have read it, but I really need to get The Boy in the Red Dress!
Keep
Boyfriend Material – Ilsa Madden-Mills
This is another case of there’s a synopsis and a possible release, but nothing other than that. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but for now I’ll take this off my want to read list.
Remove
The Last Post – Renee Carlino
I’ve read books by Renee Carlino (or at least one that I can remember) and know I really enjoyed it. The Last Post is going to be a very emotional story, but I love those so I’m definitely intrigued.

Removal Percentage: 50%
Current “to-read” shelf: 813
It’s been awhile since I’ve done so well! I’m proud of myself that I removed half of the books I talked about this week. Not that I need to remove them all, but if I don’t think I’ll read something anytime soon I don’t think they should still be on my shelf. Have you read any of these books? What do you think of my decisions? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
