Today I want to talk about a show that made it to my honourable mentions part of my favourite 2020 tv shows. And that is Biohackers! A German show available on Netflix. It was released this summer and I watched it in the last couple of weeks of the year. Let’s take a look!

A fast-paced thriller following medical student Mia Akerlund who discovers the use of highly advanced biohacking technology in her university town.

We follow Mia as she starts at university and right away you know there are secrets. Mia isn’t exactly who she claims to be and throughout the episodes you find out more and more about her. In no time at all Mia manages to get closer to her professor and tries to get into her inner circle. But why does she want to? What is she after?

I really enjoyed this show! There are currently 6 episodes of about 40 minutes each. A lot happens in those 6 episodes and it’s a pretty fast paced show. We also get an ending that screams for a second season. Luckily we already get confirmation that there will be a second season.

I enjoyed the mystery that was going on and the fast pace of the show. But I also really liked the minor characters. Mia moves into a house with fellow students and slowly forms a relationship with them. And I liked them a lot! They are quirky and nerds and not at all what you expect at first. I loved their support and would love to see more of their storylines in the second season.

While we get some answers to the main mystery we also get a glimpse into the second mystery. And I’m really excited for that second mystery. I like that the mystery isn’t dragged out but that we’re moving forward. You can say I’m excited for the second season! I will definitely be watching it as soon as it releases.
