Tag | The Sims Book Tag

It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for another book tag! I was looking for a fun book tag to do while I was watching Sims 4 youtube video’s and that’s when I found the Sims Book Tag. Seems like a very appropriate tag for me to do since I’ve been playing a lot of Sims again haha. This tag was created by one of my favorite booktubers; Hailey in Bookland. I’m super excited so let’s jump right in!

1. The original Sims: the best author debut.

One that comes to mind right away is Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan. I loved that book so much, it was a great debut! This year I also read the sequel and I’m very excited for the last book in the trilogy next year. Highly recommend this series, especially if you enjoy the Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo, it has a similar vibe.

2. The grim reaper: the saddest character death.

This is pretty hard to answer without spoiling anything haha, my go-to answer for this is a couple of the deaths in the last Harry Potter book. Another one that had me crying was They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera, so good but so sad!

3. Sims getting stuck: a character that just got in the way.

This is one of the most difficult tag questions I’ve ever gotten! I had to think long and hard and I’m still not sure this is a satisfying answer, but nevertheless it’s my answer haha. Adam in the Shatter Me series really got in the way haha. I never liked him so he got in my way of enjoying the story but he also got in Juliette’s way every now and then. The sixth and final book released this year and I still have to read it but I was very disappointed in the fifth book. Hopefully we get a satisfying finale!

4. Simlish: a book with amazing writing.

There are so many books with amazing writing haha. I personally love love love books with foreshadowing. And I think Sarah J. Maas does this so well. I know her books have their own problems, but I love her foreshadowing, especially in the Throne of Glass series. When you reread those books you come across so many little details and you won’t believe how much was already planned!

5. Expansion packs: a series where the books kept on getting better.

The Throne of Glass series for sure! I personally loved the series from the first book but the story got so much better. My favourite character didn’t even get introduced until the third book and the story developed in ways I never expected from that first book.

6. Sims romance: the worst case of insta love.

Every other YA book haha. The first one that comes to mind is The Mortal Instruments series with Clary and Jace. I really enjoyed this series, especially at the time I read the books, but even then that insta love annoyed me. Insta love and the ‘I would die for you even though I barely know you’ annoyed me to no end haha. But I guess it’s just part of YA literature.

7. Cheats: a book that was entirely unrealistic.

I have to admit I can believe a lot! So a book isn’t unrealistic to me easily. That also makes this a very hard question haha. I guess what I personally find unrealistic is insta love and especially the part where teenagers seem so willing to die for the person they fell in love with. This just doesn’t make sense for me haha.

8. Needs fulfillment: a character who made all the wrong decisions.

One of the characters that annoyed me the most in recent years, and I’m sure she also made all the wrong decisions, is Kaye from Tithe. I hated her and the book was a big disappointment haha, I haven’t read the sequel yet because of that. Hopefully at some point though!

9. Error code 12: a series that started off great but went downhill from there.

I’m doubling up on books and series today haha. The second trilogy in the Shatter Me series started off great! I loved book 4, it was my favorite out of the whole series. But the fifth book, the second in the second trilogy was by far the worst book in the series. And I haven’t picked up the last book yet because of my disappointment in book 5. Hopefully that will bring it back up but my expectations are definitely lower now.

10. The Sims vortex: a book/series that completely engrossed you

The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series completely engrossed me! I read the first book in no time and about a week ago I picked up the second book. This was another super fast read and I loved it so much. I can’t wait for the next book in this series, so much fun and interesting mysteries.

I loved doing this tag! It was pretty hard because there are a couple of questions I don’t really see in other tags. But that was exactly what made it so much fun. If you have a blog I would highly suggest doing this tag as well!

  1. Such difficult questions! I also hate how so many YA novels have insta-love in them. I’m like bro you just met two days ago what are you talking about you’re in love?

    1. Hahaha so true!! I’m not even sure I really like people I’ve know for a while, let alone love them hahaha

  2. What a cool tag! I’d have an issue answer the “character who got in the way” question, as well, lol. I feel the same about insta-love, too. Like, please stop, you don’t even know their last name WHY WOULD YOU TAKE A BULLET FOR THEM?!

    1. Hahahaha yesss, why do authors keep doing this?! At least develop the relationship more before having them trying to give up their lives like a bunch of idiots!

  3. Great tag Isabelle, I hadn’t seen this one before but I loved reading your answer and you’ve reminded me that I have quite a lot of books to read still, oops!!

    1. Thank you! Haha, yes these posts are perfect to remind you!
