I’m always on the lookout for a fun book tag and I came across this one! Beth from the Booksnest created this ‘I Should Have Read That Book’ tag and I found it at Emma’s blog the terror of knowing. There are 7 prompts and I really had to think for a couple of them, so let’s take a look!
A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

While Candyce does tell me to read a lot of books, I don’t feel like she keeps pushing me to read a certain book over and over again haha. She just keeps hitting me with new ones haha. If I had to pick one book, I’d go with A Curse So Dark and Lonely. Both Candyce and Melissa really liked it and I have been planning on reading it for abut a year and a half now!
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

For almost 5 years I’ve had a classic adult fantasy on my TBR and I still haven’t read it yet. I’m talking about Lud-in-the-Mist. This book looks so good and I’m sure I will love it a lot. Hopefully I will pick it up soon because I can’t believe I’ve owned this book for almost 5 years now.
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

I started reading the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series almost three years ago and I only need to read the finale. Candyce and I started reading the last book in the series with another friend of ours and while she finished it in no time at all, we both miserably failed haha. I really liked the first two books and I should just go ahead and read that last book!
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

I don’t really read classics, I tried to make it a reading goal a couple of years ago but it just doesn’t work for me. There are a couple of classics that do sound like I might enjoy them though, and one of them is The Odyssey. I also love some of the editions these classics come in and I would love to collect them just because they are beautiful hahaha.
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Everyone seems to have read the complete Caraval series. And I still have only read the first book haha. I was a bit disappointed after all the hype so I haven’t really felt the urge to read the next two books. Even though everyone says the series get better. And I own all the books because the covers are gorgeous haha.
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

I usually try to read the book first but sometimes I don’t even know something is inspired by a book. One of my favorite movies is Shutter Island, I loved it so much and when I found out it was based on a book I knew I had to read it. The author of the book has tons of books out and I think I would really enjoy quite a lot of them.
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

There are so many books I see on Instagram haha. One I’ve seen a lot recently was This Is How You Lose The Time War since Illumicrate was doing a special edition. I already own a copy and I can’t wait to finally read it <3
And that was the I Should Have Read That Book tag! I had a lot of fun with these prompts and want to read allll of the books right away haha. Which one should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments! Also did you notice all of the blue covers haha.

THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR was one of my favorites last year. It was such a joy to read.
Happy to hear that! I’m so excited to pick it up, it sounds like a wonderful read <3
I was also a bit dissapointed in Caraval I liked it but was not over excited so I haven’t continued on with it either but I feel like I want to because I loved the idea and the world haha and I want to know more about Legend!
Happy to hear I wasn’t the only one! I think the hype ruined it a bit for me. But I agree, the world and the idea were so cool and I really want to know more about it.
