We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Authors Who Have a Fun Social Media Presence. I think that’s one of the greatest things about social medis, is the contact with authors and I’ve met some great ones these past few years. Here are some I would definitely recommend following.
LJ Evans She’s on Facebook with her own group and on Instagram. I’m a big fan of her group. LJ Evans is really sweet and is very caring when it comes to her readers. If you’re interested in different national days as well this is the place to be. And of course, we get a lot of fun teasers of things she’s working on. If you want to join her Facebook group, it’s called LJ’s Music and Stories.
Kelsey Kingsley This author makes me laugh out loud often. She’s open and honest about her life and really lets you in. On top of that she writes amazing books that you won’t forget. Also, speaking of books, we get regular updates and teasers from everything she’s working on. And she loves cats and that always scores points with me. If you want to join her Facebook group, it’s called Kelsey Kingsley’s Dear Readers.
Brooke O’Brien Again, if you love to laugh and get amazing sneaks peeks of her books, you need Brooke O’Brien in your life. She’s sarcastic, sweet, writes amazing books and has become a friend this past year. I love her groupand she gives us a lot of live previews about what’s going on. If you want tojoin her Facebook group,it’s called Brooke O’Brien’s Rebel Readers.
Jennifer Hanks An author always makes me happy when they create characters/families that make me wish I could be apart of them. Her DiMarco series has a place in my heart and is very special. Jennifer has created a close group and I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world. If you want to join her Facebook group, it’s called Jen’s Darlin’s – Jennifer Hanks Reader Group.
Kayla Tirrell When we started blogging, Kayla Tirrell was one of the first authors I read an ARC from. I’ve been along on her author journey and she’s sweet and quirky. Kayla is authentic and is still amazed that readers love what she gives us. I love the life and book updates. You can find her on Instagram: thats_tirrellble.
Rebecca Yarros I’m still surprised I love an author that always makes me cry, haha. Rebecca does write amazing books though and I’m always looking forward to the next one. In her Facebook group she’s really open about her life as a mom of quite a few kids, haha. She’s funny, quirky and very real. With everything she’s done and been through, it’s amazing she’s able to give us the books she does. If you want to join her on Facebook group, it’s called Rebecca Yarros’ Flygirls.
Taylor Danae Colbert I’ve said it about all of the authors I’ve talked about so far and it’s true for Taylor as well. Taylor is really sweet, genuine and definitely makes me laugh. I love the updates she shares about writing and being a mother and the updates we get of course. She seems really down to earth and gives us something different every time she writes a book. You can find her on Instagram: taydanaewrites.
SJ Sylvis I could basically write the same story for SJ Sylvis as Taylor Danae Colbert, haha. And they just happen to be friends! It’s fun to see her adventures and writing updates. She shows us the realistic side of everything and it’s not always picture perfect and that’s what makes her amazing. All you have to be is yourself. You can find her on Instagram: authorsjsylvis.
Okay, I only have eight authors I can think of at the moments. I’m sure there are a few I’m forgetting, but these are definitely a good place to start. What authors do you think havea fun social media prescence? Let me know in the comments and feel free to leave your links below.
I agree, social media is amazing as a way for us to follow and interact with authors and others. I don’t follow a lot of authors per se but I really should more. These all look like fabulous people to follow.
I’m not familiar with any of these authors, but it definitely sounds like they’re all fun to follow!
What a fun list. 🙂

I love Rebecca Yarros! She definitely has a fun social media presence.
Great picks!
I don’t know any of these authors, but I agree with you… social media is a great way to interact with other authors. It’s kind of amazing that so many authors of books you love will interact with you. I named my kids after book characters from a book series… the authors are on Twitter now, and when they liked my tweet the other day, it just made me so happy! I’ve loved them for over 20 years.
