We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads. I’ve done a bookish item about this in the past and really like this idea! Of course I hope all of the books on my TBR will be 5 star reads but we all know it doesn’t work that way. So let’s take a look at the 10 books I predict will be 5 stars for me!
1.Mortal Heart – Robin LaFevers
I read the first two books in this series years ago and loved both of them. Somehow I never picked up the last one but almost everyone seems to like this one best. Last year the first book in the companion duology released and I would love to get to those books as well.
2.The Diviners – Libba Bray
I have had this one of my shelves for three years now and I can’t believe I still haven’t picked it up. This book sounds like it’s right up my alley and I’m sure I will love it! I currently have it on my priority list and I truly hope to read it very soon. If I love it, I can binge read the whole series! Although we all know I will probably leave the sequels for another couple of years 😉
3.Scythe – Neal Shusterman
I have been wanting to read this one for quite a while, but since this Christmas I finally own a physical copy. A couple of my friends read and loved this book and the series has been getting a bit more attention this past year. I want to read more sci-fi and I think this will scratch that itch perfectly.
4.Red Sister – Mark Lawrence
Apparently I have a couple of Mark Lawrence books on my shelves and my wishlists but I haven’t read one of his books haha. I think I will love this one a lot, there has been a ton of hype with the conclusion to the series coming out in 2019. There have been raving reviews from a couple of reviewers I trust so I have high hopes. This is an adult fantasy and want to read more of those in 2020.
5.Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
Why I haven’t I read this yet? I really liked the first two books in the series and I’m pretty sure this one will be even better. There were some unexpected plot twists in the second book and I’ve heard there more in Bloodwitch! As far as I know, there isn’t a date for the fourth book yet and I guess that makes me a bit hesitant.
6.Skyward – Brandon Sanderson
There had to be a Brandon Sanderson on here! I have a ton of unread Brandon Sanderson books but I am in the middle of The Final Empire so I did start. Skyward is a YA sci-fi and like I said, I want to read more sci-fi. It also got really good reviews so I think I will love it a lot. I’m also expecting to give a lot more Brandon Sanderson books 5 stars, so let’s hope he doesn’t disappoint.
7.Sadie – Courtney Summers
I wanted to pick this up as soon as I bought it. But I would also really like to listen to the audiobook. Unfortunately it isn’t available at my audiobook subscription service so I should just go ahead a pick up my physical copy. I love YA mystery/thriller type books and this one is supposedly very dark.
8.Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake
I already started reading this one and I should really continue! All the previous books in the series were solid 5 stars for me and I truly hope the conclusion can live up to those expectations. I love this world and I especially like (some of) the characters. While I do have some theories, I’m not super sure about the way this story is going to end and I would love to find out.
9.The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
This book is gorgeous! It’s also pretty big haha. I think this will be another adult fantasy I will love. Candyce already read and loved this first book in the series. The last book in the series releases this year so it would be great if I could read the first two books before than.
10. Vengeful – V.E. Schwab
This will probably be the next book I pick up! I read the first chapter the moment I received the book and really liked what I read. Victoria is one of my favorite writers and I hope this book will be as good as I think it will be. I’m doing a buddyread with a pretty big group for this one and it is a lot of fun!
These are 10 of the books on my shelves I predict will be 5 star reads for me. This was pretty difficult to be honest! I tried to be really critical and only picked books I think I will really love. Have you read any of these books? And what did you rate them? Tell me down below!
