Technically yesterday was Christmas, but here in The Netherlands we have a second day. I figured I would squeeze in just one more Christmas tag for the year with the The Harry Potter Christmas Tag. I just couldn’t resist.

I saw this tag on For Books Sake, but it was originally created by Charleigh Writes. Let’s take a look at this Harry Potter tag.

It’s your first Christmas at Hogwarts. What’s one book you’ve asked for this year?

My Christmas wishlist was basically nothing but books. One of the books I asked for was Jackaby. The first book in this series was released in 2014 and I somehow missed this one completely. Then again, at that time I was reading mostly chicklits. I’ve seen a few bookstagrammers talk about it recently and now I need to know what it’s all about.

You spot Hagrid hauling the Christmas tree through the grounds. What is the longest (or heaviest) book you own?

I’m not afraid of big books and I own quite a few long/heavy books. The first one to come to mind is Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. This book is over 900 pages long and really heavy. I enjoyed every minute of it though!

It’s time for the famous Great Hall feast. What’s one book you can’t read without snacks?

There really isn’t a book I can think of that made me want to snack while reading. Heartless is the only book I can think of being tempted to snack, because the main character loves sweets.

Well done, you’ve brewed your first Polyjuice Potion. What’s one book you’d change the cover of?

It’s so weird, I can normally think of so many books I would want to see a cover change happen. Sitting here writing this tag and I just can’t think of anything. I have to say that the UK cover for The Starless Sea needs a change. I just don’t care for it. The US one definitely interests me more.

You receive a brand new Firebolt for Christmas. What’s one book you read super quickly?

I’m lucky to have a pretty fast reading tempo. The last book I read in no time was Asking for A friend. This is such a cute romance and I just couldn’t put it down.

You get hit by one of Fred and George’s flying snowballs. What’s a book you wanted to throw across the room?

There are many reasons to want to throw a book across the room. Sometimes they’re very emotional and sometimes it’s one that just doesn’t connect. Unfortunately, I had this with Gideon the Ninth. I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn’t the book for me.

You’ve just visited Hogsmeade for the first time. What’s one popular book you haven’t read yet?

I haven’t read Mistborn yet and this is a pretty popular and hyped book. My boyfriend has read the first trilogy and loved them. For me it’s just really been a case of too many books, so little time. Isabelle and I actually plan on reading the first book in January! So I will get to it soon.

Congratulations, you’ve been invited to the Yule Ball. What book about Christmas do you love?

Christmas books are something that always seem to make me really happy. The most recent Christmas read was 10 Blind Dates. I really enjoyed it and our review will be online this weekend. I finished reading this with a smile on my face.

You find Ron’s deluminator. What’s one book that’s helped you through some dark times?

This is a hard question to answer. I’ve honestly been lucky to not go through a lot of dark times. The last time there really was more emotional stress was after my mother moved back to the States for a bit and my grandmother got sick. I had a lot of adjusting to do around then and at that moment I was reading the Wheel of Time series. Those books were amazing and definitely a nice distraction.
