Tag | Merry Christmas Book Tag

My last Christmas tag of the year! Are you sick of it yet? Haha. I won’t get this opportunity for another 11 months so I had to make good use of it. Merry Christmas Book Tag was created by Jess and I found it over at It Starts At Midnight. This was once again a fun tag I found and I honestly don’t have that much more to say. I’m totally using the cute headers Jess created. So let’s just get started!

Of course I have to go with my most recent Christmas read! I loved 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston, even more than I thought I would. This takes place for about a two weeks around Christmas. It was such an adorable read and I can’t wait for the tv adaptation. You can expect a review very soon!

So that was harder than expected! I have red books and I have green books, but ones with both Red and Green on the cover proved difficult to find. Luckily I did manage to find one. It doesn’t really look like a Christmas tree, but it works haha. I’m talking about The Ancient Magus’ Bride. This was such an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to read the next one.

I think Last Christmas from Wham! could be made into a wonderful Christmas thriller. It would be dark and gritty and ‘festive’ and would definitely read it. I don’t really pick up books just because they’re set around Christmas even though I do love the holiday. But a Last Christmas dark retelling would definitely find it’s way in my shopping basket faster than you can say gingerbread house!

I don’t think I’ve read that many books with religious protagonists, or any really. The one that comes to mind is The Kiss of Deception. This is a fantasy book, so Lia is religious, it’s just not any religion we know of. I liked this trilogy a lot and this reminds me I really need to get on to the new series in this world!

I think I always give the same answer to questions like this. But my absolute favorite animal companion is Abraxos from the Throne of Glass series. This wyvern is the cutest, most loyal, most wonderful beast ever. One of the things I miss most after finishing this series is not reading about Abraxos anymore. It might be time for a reread!

One of my current reads has a cold setting! It even has snow on the cover. I’m currently reading The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. The cover shows the snow setting, although I’m not that far into the book yet so I can’t completely confirm haha. I hope to finish the book soon though, so I can finally watch the new tv show.

So many of my books are with royals! Especially all those fantasy books haha. I’ve already mentioned a couple of wonderful books with royals. A great book that takes place at court is Grave Mercy. I recently talked about this series in my most underrated authors post and I really need to read the last book in the trilogy. The first two books were amazing and most people seem to love the last one best!

I recently read a very cute and gorgeous graphic novel; Aquicorn Cove. The main character is still a child, and I would say this is a middle grade graphic novel. It has amazing art and while the story was very short it has a super important message. I think a lot more people should read this, and take that message to heart!

Lord of Shadows, the second book in the Dark Artifices trilogy by Cassandra Clare broke my heart! And then especially the ending! I couldn’t believe what happened and I was crying all over the book. After reading it I was happy I waited until the whole trilogy was out because I can’t amazing waiting a year after reading that cliffhanger. Now I just have to wait a couple of years before we get the Wicked Powers trilogy haha.

Get Out of Town, the second Riverdale book was super boring! Nothing happened, and everything that did was stuff we already knew from the tv show. I was so disappointed by this one, as a big Riverdale fan I really wanted to enjoy this. And while I didn’t love the first book, it was a lot more enjoyable than this second one. I’m still not sure if I’ll pick up the last one.

I don’t read that many books set during Christmas so this is a very hard one! If they would adapt the Geek Girl series into movies or a tv show I could totally see that as a Christmas one. The first novella in this series is set during Christmas and it’s very cute. This whole series is just geeky, funny and cute and I think that’s perfect for Christmas movies.

I’ve recently shared my Christmas wishlist for a bookish swap, for Candyce’s and my swap with another friend of ours and my TTT that was all about books I want for Christmas will be online next week! But if I could make an actual Christmas wish, I would love to find My Calamity Jane under the tree. Now that would be a miracle!

This was another great Christmas tag! I really enjoyed doing this and be reminded of all this Christmas songs. It’s so weird to know this will be my last Christmas tag for the next 11 months. Let the count down begin 😉

  1. Thanks so much for doing my tag! 😀 Omg I love the idea of Last Christmas as a thriller – would definitely read/watch that. I really enjoyed Grave Mercy – I need to finish that series and move on to the new books LaFevers has written.

    1. Thanks for creating such a fun tag! Haha, yes the more I think about it, the more I need some one to write a Last Christmas thriller haha. And agreed, we need to get on finishing the His Fair Assassin books, I loved what I’ve read so far!
