BOOK BLURB

From bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes an emotional, small-town romance with a twist…

For years, I was close enough to fame to touch it. Taste it. Drink it.

Until one more drink became my answer to everything.

Until one night I made a mistake which couldn’t be undone.

So, I cut all ties to my former life and the addiction that destroyed it. And I left in search of redemption on the other side of the country.

After months building a new future, I thought my past had stayed put.

Until I opened my front door to find she’d followed me.

Taylor Hastings. My sister’s best friend.

And the good girl I’d never been good enough for.

Not then. Not now. Not ever.

One glance at Taylor’s face told me she’d come searching for a safe haven. One glance at the swell of her stomach told me she hadn’t come alone.

I didn’t hesitate to offer her my help and my home because looking out for her was the right thing to do…

Even if the way I wanted her would always be wrong.

So, I kept my distance. And Taylor kept her secrets.

Until one kiss changed everything.

Until one kiss made me realize it wasn’t our first.

REVIEW

This is my first book by this author, but it will not be the last! Once I read the first page of Redemption, I just needed to know more! The way this book was written made it impossible to put down. For some people this book may not be easy to read, because alcoholism plays a big part, but I was impressed by the way the author handled this subject.

Ash is lost and alcohol kind of took over his life. When he decides to get away from it all, things start to turn around. He finds a small town that welcomes him with open arms and it’s just what he needs. This is Ash’s chance to get sober and start over again. Maybe even follow his own dream this time around. Taylor grew up with very religious parents and she believes, but has taken a turn off the path her parents want for her. One night she lets loose, but doesn’t expect to end up pregnant. When all else fails, she turns to Ash for help and support.

I loved Ash’s character. Yes, he has problems he needs to deal with, but he’s doing his best to turn his life around. He’s a hard worker, does things without asking for something in return and is really protective of the family he’s created in this small town. I loved seeing him work so hard on his restaurant, but give back to this community that gave him so much. Ash is tough on himself and I think even though he changed so much, forgiving himself is the hardest thing he has to do.

Taylor was also a really interesting character. I loved how she knew she would take care of the baby no matter what. Her need to have everything organized definitely made me giggle. She’s a hard worker and can’t sit still. Going to Ash wasn’t easy, but I think it’s brave she went to the only person in her mind that could help her out. The way she was with Ash brought a smile to my face.

The chemistry between these two characters was amazing and I loved the slow burn aspect of this story. In many ways they were both looking for their own redemption and found it in each other. Taylor and Ash made each other stronger and it was so interesting to see it all play out. The only thing I had an issue with was not being upfront with the pregnancy. That’s just something that doesn’t sit right with me in books and movies. Not matter what it may be.

Redemption is a book with all the feels and it takes place in a small town I would move to in a heartbeat. Redemption didn’t try to make alcoholism seem like it’s something that’s instantly cured, but showed the struggles of it as well. Also, the side characters in this book were amazing and really completed this story. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next!
