Bookish Item | F Is For Friday

While blogging today, I’ve been trying to think of something to write about for my bookish item. Nothing was really inspriing me, so I decided to google book blog memes. That’s where I stumbled upon F Is For Friday hosted by Nomadic Worlds. Let’s see what it’s about!

How to participate in the meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Me! πŸ˜‰ ) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

Questions:
F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read)
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

This seems simple enough, let’s give it a go!

F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read)

I read a lot of books, but I love the ones that stick with you awhile after you’re done reading them! There are two that pop to mind at the moment.

First of all, Tell Me Goodnight. Kelsey Kingsley has been a favorite of mine for awhile, but she really did it again with this story. It has such an emotional rollercoaster ride, but so worth it. The characters are ones you don’t forget and all the feelings stick around weeks after you’re done reading!

The second book is Seven Shades of You. I have never read anything by this author before, but I definitely complained that I hadn’t picked her work up sooner! Seven Shades of You is another really intense and emotional book, but also so beautiful! I also love her take on mental health.

I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t reading multiple books at once, haha. So there are a few I have to talk about now!

Killing November is a group read for TBR & Beyond (the discussion is next week, so definitely come and join if you’ve read the book)! Young Adult thrillers is a genre that’s been interesting me more and more. So I don’t think I can go wrong with one that takes place at a boarding school for assassins!

Corinne Michaels is another romance author that I love! Her newest book, Indefinite, releases Monday and I have an ARC to read and review. I’m so grateful I got this one, so I think I will be enjoying every minute of reading this!

Last but not least, I will be continuing with my ARC of The Parallax. I have loved the first two books in this series and this one is amazing so far! It releases on Tuesday, but I’ve been taking my time. I don’t want it to end yet!! Waiting for the fourth book will be torture, haha.

Okay, I was already on the next question when I realized I forgot a book! Isabelle and I are also doing a buddyread of Dreams of Gods & Monsters with a friend of ours. We read the first two books almost two years ago and haven’t gotten around to the last book in the trilogy. Our friend was reading them as well, so we decided to join in with the last book. This story is so amazing, we should be ashamed it took us so long!

F – Favorite quote of the week/day

The only quote that I’ve written down in the past week is one from Dreams of Gods & Monsters.

“Life is your master, or death is.”

I don’t know why, but this quote really stuck out to me. In many ways I think it reflects this trilogy in many ways. I’m only a little over 100 pages in, so I’m excited to see where this last book will take the characters.

F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  • I am thankful for how our blog is doing. In the end we blog for us, but it’s so much fun seeing people reading what we post and interacting with us. We’re really happy with where we are and it wouldn’t be possible without this amazing community!
  • After a few busy weeks, I’m very grateful my schedule is back to normal. Today (as I’m typing this) has been very relaxing. I bingewatched The Blacklist with my mother today, haha.
  • I was starting to get a summer cold, but it luckily only caused a stuffy nose and is almost gone!
  • Bookish friends are another thing I’m grateful for this week. I have met a lot of amazing people so far and have planned a few buddyreads the next few months! I love sharing experiences while reading.
  • Last but not least, I’m grateful for fans this week. We’re starting to get warmer weather and I’m not a fun person when I get too warm, haha. So I am very happy I have something to kind of keep me cool.

I really enjoyed doing this F is For Friday meme! Not something I will do weekly, but you’ll definitely see it on the blog every once in awhile. Now tell me, what is your latest book obsession?
