TTT #84 | Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019. There are a lot of books releasing in the second half of the year that I have a feeling it will be hard to choose just ten, but I’m going to try. Let’s take a look!

Wayward Son – Rainbow Rowell After reading Fangirl, I knew I needed to read Carry On. It was a fun read and made me love Fangirl a little bit more. I don’t think any fans ever expected to get more Simon Snow, but this author shocked us all when she announced Wayward Son. This will definitely call for a reread of the books I already mentioned! I can’t wait to be back in this world.

Tiger Queen – Annie Sullivan A Touch of Gold was a pleasant surprise last year and I have a feeling Tiger Queen is going to be amazing as well! I’m not familiar with the story “The Lady, or The Tiger?”, but I don’t think that will make a difference!

The Burning Shadow – Jennifer L. Armentrout LUX will always be a favorite of mine and I can’t tell you how excited I was when she announced a spin off for this series. I loved The Darkest Star and the ending left me wanting more. October can’t get here soon enough!

Tunnel of Bones – Victoria Schwab City of Ghosts is a book I read right after I received it for Christmas lastt year. I remember being sad when I was done, because the release date for Tunnel of Bones was so far away, haha. We’re finally getting closer and I’m very excited for this middle grade.

Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo So far, I’ve loved everything I have read by this author. Six of Crows being number one. Ninth House is definitely an anticipated read and I’ve become very curious. The author has said this one is a lot darker than what we’ve read by her. On top of that, it’s not a Young Adult book!

Gideon the Ninth – Tamsyn Muir Necromancers aren’t something I’ve read a lot about, but it’s something that really interests me. I keep seeing this book everywhere and have to say the cover is the first thing that caught my eye. Gideon the Ninth releases in September and seems like the perfect thing to read around Halloween!

Scared Little Rabbits – A.V. Geiger Follow Me Back was such an amazing book and the sequel didn’t disappoint. I actually just learned a few days ago that Scared Little Rabbits is going to be released. Missing students and one suspect. Sounds like a perfect mystery.

Regretting You – Colleen Hoover This is basically an auto-buy/read author to me. I love her work and she’s one of the many who always break your heart, but puts it together again. I know it may seem weird that it’s on my list, but doesn’t have a blurb yet, haha. I can’t wait to read what it’s about. I love the cover though!

The Bromance Book Club – Lyssa Kay Adams If a book has anything to do with books or fandoms, I’m basically sold, haha. This book wasn’t on my radar until recently when I saw a blogger review the ARC she had received. I love the idea of men getting together for a book club to read romances to try and understand relationships better. I need this one now!

All the Bad Apples – Moïra Fowley-Doyle I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but they do appeal to me. Anything with family curses and mysteries always interest me. This is a book I actually have an ARC of that I’ll hopefully read before the release in August!

So these are the ten books releasing in the second half of 2019 that I’m really looking forward to. Believe me when I say these aren’t the only 10 I really want in the next six months, haha. There are so many book releasing, but I wrote down the books I thought of first! What books are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments or feel free to leave your links!

    1. Can’t blame you for cheating. There are so many interesting book releasing soon!

  1. Okay so I am SO excited for Ninth House, There Will Come A Darkness, The Queen of Nothing and Gravemaidens.
I do have copies of The Burning Shadow and Tiger Queen that I’m looking forward to, but they wouldn’t make my top 10.

  2. I have an ARC of Gideon the Ninth and it’s honestly intimidating me and I don’t know why. I think I’m going to love it. Tiger Queen is one I’m looking forward to as well!

  4. Ninth House is on my list this week too! I read my first Jennifer L. Armentrout book recently, but since I haven’t read the Lux books, I’ll do that next from her backlist.

    1. I really recommend LUX! They’ll always be my favorite by her.

    1. It’s a bit different, but definitely worth it! I hope you enjoy it when you finally sit down to read it.

  5. I don’t really know anything about “Bromance Book Club,” but its cover sounds cute, and I like how you describe it. I do remember seeing it “recommended” when I was shopping some contemporary reads on Amazon, so I’ll have to take a second look at this one! 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland – hope you enjoy all of these!!
