Book Beginnings on Friday isn’t a prompt that I’ve done in awhile, so I decided to give it another go.This meme was created by Rose City Reader.
The idea is to post the first sentence or so of the book you’re currently reading. After that you talk about your initial thoughts about the sentence, book or anything to do with that. I don’t know how often I will do this, but it seems like fun from time to time.
As you know if you follow the blog, I am a moderator in TBR & Beyond Book Club on Facebook. This month we’re reading The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James by Ashley Herring Blake. So I decided to do this one for my Book Beginnings. I plan on reading it this weekend!
“I’m going to die today. Definitely for a few minutes and maybe forever. Kate keeps telling me no way, nohow iy’s going to be forever, but she isn’t the one who’s about to have her most important internal organs switched out like a new swimsuit at the start of summer.”
I’m really excited about reading more middle grade books. This paragraph tells me that it’s going be an emotional roller coaster. A few friends have read this and told me I will need tissues, haha.
Besides an emotional read, I also expect this book to be filled with lessons. It is a middle grade after all. I have a feeling this is going to be an important story for children to read!
Have you read this book? What did you think? If you haven’t read it, what was the last book you read that had an important message/lesson?
