Review| Falling for Fallon – S.J. Sylvis

S.J. Sylvis is an author who I’ve read for a few times and I love the romances she writes. Today is release day for Falling for Fallon, the second book in the Oak Hill series. A big thank you to the author for providing me an ARC to read and review!

Somehow, at the ripe age of twenty-three, I find myself in line to marry a man I don’t love.

I grind my teeth right there at the dinner table as my mother and father go on and on about how proud they are of me, how proud they are that I, Fallon Addington, will no longer be the black sheep of the family and become the daughter they’ve always wanted.

Marry Derek and they’ll finally accept me.
Marry Derek and they’ll stop shoving men from their “social circle” in my direction.
Marry Derek and become the spitting image of my mother; the perfect corporate wife with a face full of make-up and not a hair out of line.
Marry Derek and all the shame and guilt will disappear.

But then… I embarrassingly flash Emmett Lanning my bra and suddenly my parents’ hopes and dreams are burning up in flames, right there along with my heart.

Review

I remember while I was reading Chasing Ivy, that I kept thinking I want a book for Emmett. He seemed like a bad boy, but I had a feeling there was going to be more to his story and I was rigt! When the author announced his book I was very happy.

Fallon seems to have the perfect life. Her family has a lot of money, she doesn’t want for anything, but maybe she does. All her parents want her to do is marry Derek, a guy who fits perfectly in their social circle. A guy who will make their family look good. The only problem is, Fallon doesn’t love Derek and doesn’t want to become the perfect corporate wife. It’s just not her! Except if she does anything her parents don’t like, she’ll basically be disowned.

Emmett had some issues growing up and doing everything he wasn’t supposed to. Eventually everything clicked and he decided to turn himself around. He owns his own business now and has a pretty good life. Emmett hasn’t had the best track record with women, but that’s not what he’s concentrating on now!

Of course, Emmett and Fallon meet and they have chemistry. It’s fun seeing them interact and get to know each other. It’s simple though, Emmett will help Fallon with her bucketlist, but once that’s done he’s gone and out of her life. Falling for Fallon has so many funny moments. I think my favorite seen will be of them shopping for dresses (I don’t want to spoil, because you want to experience this for the first time while reading). All I can say is that I laughed out loud many times.

I loved how Fallon and Emmett were able to find each other’s happy if that makes any sense. Everything felt so easy between them and when they interacted I had a smile on my face while reading this book. I really didn’t want their story to end! It was the perfect combination of humor, friendship, romance and some sexy moments!

So that’s why I was always annoyed when I read about her parents or Derek. How could you treat your family like that? Not wanting them to be happy? That is something I will never understand. Emmett is so much more of a man than Derek will ever be. I think what I loved most about this story is Fallon finding her happy and becoming a strong woman who eventually learns to choose herself!

On top of that we get to see some characters from Chasing Ivy and I love seeing how characters are doing after reading their book. Falling for Fallon definitely has a special place in my heart! When I was done reading, I definitely had a smile on my face. If you’re looking for a romance with lots of humor and amazing romance and chemistry, definitely pick up this book!

I can’t wait to see what character gets the next book. There are quite a few I wouldn’t mind seing!
