It’s the beginning of April which means that it’s time for us to show you what books we collected in March! Were we good? Or did our bank accounts yell at us? Find out by taking a look at our March Bookhaul!
Earlier this month we already showed you a bit of our bookhaul. We both celebrated our birthdays and gave each other some books. It would be weird to write about those books again, so if you want to see our birthday hauls, click here.
Candyce
March was actually a really good month for me. If you click on our birthday post, you’ll see I received five books from Isabelle. I can’t wait to read them all. Besides that, I received three books from my boyfriend and I got a bookish device with the money I got.
A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven
If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you’re probably sick of us talking about the first book, The Exact Opposite of Okay. That was one of my favorite books last year and this book is one of my most anticipated releases! I was planning on reading it in March, but plans changed. So I hope to get to it this month!
The Triumphant – Lesley Livingston
This is the third and final book in The Valiant trilogy! In February we read The Defiant and I really enjoyed it. A lot was wrapped up, but there’s still plenty to explore in this third book. Now I just have to make sure I don’t wait more than a year to read this one, haha.
Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee – Jeff Zentner
I have the two other books this author wrote on my shelf, but haven’t read them yet. Friends have been excited about his books, so I’m definitely curious. I think I’ll love them as well. Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee sounds like such an interesting book and I love this cover!
I also asked for money this year for my birthday. Since we’ve been blogging, I have received some ARCs and I read those on my phone or iPad. They get read, but I noticed that when I have to read a few in a row, the phone or iPad screen can get annoying to read on. I already have a Kobo and love it, but seeing how a lot of the ARCs get sent to your Kindle account, I needed one of these as well.
It took me awhile to get it though, because the first time it was sent to me it never arrived! So after waiting a week and still not receiving anything, it was sent to me again. This time it arrived safely and I’m so happy I decided to buy one. My Kindle will make reading ARCs a lot better!
Isabelle
So because it’s my birthday month I actually added quite a lot of books this month haha. As you might’ve seen in the birthday post Candyce got me 5 amazing books. And I got 8 more as birthday presents. I got one more in a box and bought 3 myself! So I added 17 books to my collection this month! I’ll try not to buy books for a while now haha.
Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
This first book I got in the Faecrate Hangover Recovery Kit. I love the Witchlands series and I’m super excited to read Bloodwitch. My friend Willemijn and I are planning a buddy read this month!
A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven
As Candyce said, we talk about The Exact Opposite of Okay allll the time haha. And I was looking forward to the sequel for forever! I did start it and really loved what I read so far. But I had to put it down in favor of a couple of eARC’s and buddy reads. Definitely plan on picking it back up soon!
Fire & Heist – Sarah Beth Durst
I bought this one from a friend of mine, she got hers in a Fairyloot but doesn’t plan on reading it. The synopsis sounds really cool and I hope to enjoy it. One of my friends absolutely hated it unfortunately haha. I still have some hope for it, so we’ll see how it works out.
Storm Crow – Kalyn Josephson
This is the other book I got from my friend! The Fairyloot that included Fire & Heist also had an ARC of Storm Crow. Isn’t that cover gorgeous?
Sadie – Courtney Summers
I got this with a gift card from a friend of mine! This has been on my wishlist for quite a while and I’m so excited to start is. And I really love this cover, it very simple but so beautiful.
A Curious Beginning – Deanna Raybourn
And this is the other book I got with the gift card. We’re doing a buddy read with the TBR&Beyong Facebook group this month. I had been interested in trying this book for a while and I really like the cover of this edition.
All of the next books are gifts from my brother and uncle!
Wundersmith – Jessica Townsend
I still have to read Nevermoor but I had to get this edition of Wundersmith before I couldn’t get it anymore. When I was looking for this edition of Nevermoor I had some trouble getting it so I’m super happy I already own this one. I plan on reading this for Middle Grade May next month!
A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness
I can’t wait to watch the tv show based on this book. But I just have to read the book first! So I finally got the first book and will probably stare at how big it is forever before picking it up.
Kings of the Wyld – Nicholas Eames
I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this one! It’s an adult fantasy and I hope to read more of those this year. Candyce’s boyfriend loved this one and the sequel and gushed about it for about an hour during dinner haha, so I have to read it soon!
Fence Vol. 2 – C.S. Pacat
I already read this volume and absolutely adored it! This is such an amazing comic series and I love the artwork. I actually thought about reading the individual ones because I can’t wait until we get volume 3.
Shades of Magic Vol. 1: The Steel Prince – V.E. Schwab
I had been looking forward to this one for so long! The original Shades of Magic series is one of my favorites and I adore everything V.E. Schwab writes. I read this one last weekend and really enjoyed it. And look how gorgeous this is!
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Vol. 1: The Crucible – Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa
And I finally got my hands on the first volume of Sabrina! I adore the tv show so much and I just had to read the comic. During the graphic novel weekend readathon I read this one as well. Can’t wait to get to the second volume!
So that’s what we got in March! If you’ve read any of these we’d love to hear your thoughts! And of course we want to know what books you bought in March.
Looks like you both had a great month of books. I still need to read The Exact Opposite of Okay. I want to read Fence, The Steel Prince, and Sadie as well.
I love my Kindle Paperwhite, so enjoy!
