Tag | The Spring Cleaning Book Tag

Another Thursday means another book tag! And since it’s officially spring, I decided I wanted to do a spring book tag. I knew I had seen some before and after a quick look around some blogs I picked one out of three spring book tags. For today I have chosen the Spring Cleaning Book Tag! This tag was created by Book Syrup over on booktube. I thought this looked liked a fun tag to do, so let’s get in to it.

1.The struggle of getting started: a book/book series that you have struggled to begin because of it’s size.

Every subsequent book in the Outlander series haha. I really enjoyed the first two books but it took me months to get through them so I’m pretty sure it will be the same with the next ones and that will take quite the dedication haha.

2.Cleaning out the closet: a book and/or book series you want to unhaul.

The Miss Peregrine’s series. I still own it but is has been on my unhaul pile for a while. Book two and three were Christmas gifts a couple of years ago so I feel kinda bad getting rid of them without reading them. But I didn’t really like the first book and I don’t feel like continuing this series.

3.Opening windows and letting fresh air in: a book that was refreshing.

I thought the Murderbot Diaries were quite refreshing. These books showed me how funny and ‘easy’ science fiction can be. And while they’re novellas they did contain a full story. I would really recommend reading them! You can check out my review here.

4.Washing out sheet stains: a book you wish you could rewrite a certain scene in.

The first thing that comes to mind is a scene at the end of Queen of Air and Darkness. I really like this series en enjoyed the last book. But how the whole parabatai curse was resolved wasn’t my favorite thing. To be honest, I thought it was too easy and I wish I could rewrite it!

5.Throwing out unnecessary knick-knacks: a book in a series that you didn’t feel was necessary.

Now this might be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but to me A Court of Frost and Starlight was a bit unnecessary. It was enjoyable but that was the only thing it brought to be honest.

6.Polishing the doorknobs: a book that had a clean finish.

Apparently a lot of the books I read don’t have a clean finish! I guess I like to torture myself a bit haha. But That’s Not What I Heard had a pretty clean finish! And I enjoyed it a lot. You can check out my review here.

7.Reaching to dust the fan: a book that tried too hard to relay a certain message.

I thought long and hard about this but I can’t think of any! If you got one let me know in the comments!

8.The tiring yet satisfying finish of spring cleaning: a book series that was tiring yet satisfying to get through.

It took 12 books and it was wayyyy to long but I was pretty happy to finally finish the House of Night series. When I started the series, I thought it was fun but the story was stretched out way to much. They could’ve done it in 6 books instead of 12, but hé, I did push through!

And that was the end of the Spring Cleaning Book Tag.These were some fun and refreshing questions. And they were pretty difficult at times! Chat with me about these questions in the comments!

  1. I’d find a lot of these questions really tough! I also don’t read a ton of series, but I can think of a few that I haven’t started because of the daunting size of the books and/or series!

    1. Yes, this tag was harder than I was expecting! I hate to admit it but while I love big books they just really intimidate me haha

    1. Oh yeah, Winter was so big! But thinking back, it doesn’t seem like all that much happened? Although that may be because I read it so long ago haha

    1. Haha, happy to hear I’m not alone in this! I do hope to pick up book 3 soon
