Tag| Bitches Bite Back Book Tag

If you’ve been following us for awhile, you’re probably sick of hearing us talk about The Exact Opposite of Okay, haha. That book was one of our favorites last year! Today is the release day for the sequel, A Girl Called Shameless. Someone in Laura’s Street Team made a tag for this event (once I get the link for her blog, I will give her credit here). So today I’m doing the Bitches Bite Back Book Tag.

Izzy: a sex positive MC

Lacey, from The Birds, The Bees and You and Me is a very sex positive MC. She may not have a lot of experience, but with a mother who is very open and honest, she has her own opinion on these things. I loved that there was finally another YA book that featured this!

Ajita: a character who deserves their own spin-off

I would love to see a spin-off for Sage from Geekerella. She was such a fun and unique character and after being such a great friend, she deserves a book as well. I would love to learn more about her and maybe see her have an adventure with her fashion designs.

Betty: a non traditional family

In Nightchaser, Tess doesn’t have a great relationship with her parents (mother passed away and her father is kind of hunting her, haha). Her family becomes her crew. Even if they’re not family by blood, they choose to be there for each other and take care of the others needs. They’re a weird bunch, but they love each other unconditionally!

Danny: a friend turned enemy

This may be a stretch when it comes to this question, but I’m going to choose the Queens in Three Dark Crowns. They started out really close, but were seperated when they were pretty young and basically told the others weren’t to be trusted! I can’t imagine how hard that is!

Carson: a character who has to work to support their family

Logan, in This Summer at the Lake, feels that he needs to work to help take care of his mother. He’ll be going off to college soon and doesn’t want his mother to worry about giving him money. There are already enough things for his mother to worry about!

Vaughan: a character who struggles with their family’s expectations

In Dear Adam, Nora feels the need to be perfect, her father expects this of her. As a daughter of a father who is running to be senator, she can’t mess up. This book shows how much stress this can put on a person and that we really can’t judge a person by the way they dress or act. Sometimes, not everything is as perfect as it seems!

Meg: Unexpected Support

Gabby from Motion was definitely unexpected support that I didn’t see coming. While reading the book is seems like their friendship faded away or that Gabby kind of turned against Mona, but she was really there for her the whole time. Gabby wasn’t the enemy, but really good support in the end!

Ms Crannon: a teacher we would have loved to have in school

Hagrid wasn’t the best teacher, but he seems like the sweetest. He’s so caring and just wants all the students to learn and have fun! It’s clear he doesn’t always think things out, but he means well. Classes would definitely be interesting with him!

This was such a fun tag to do and I can’t wait to read A Girl Called Shameless! I tag anyone who is a fan of The Exact Opposite of Okay or who likes these prompts.

  1. This is a fun approach to dissecting books! I would have loved Hagrid as a teacher, but I’m definitely more of a structure person, so McGonagle would have been my fave. 🙂

    1. McGonagall would’ve been a lot of fun as well. She can change into a cat, so I would love that as well <3
