TTT #67 | Books I LOVED With Fewer Than 2000 Ratings on Goodreads

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I LOVED With Fewer Than 2000 Ratings on Goodreads. I hardly ever look at the number of ratings on Goodreads, except for this kind of post haha. Turns out I haven’t read that many books with less than 2000 ratings and especially not ones I rated 4 stars or higher. But I managed to list 10 for you today! So let’s take a look.

1. Infernal Guard 1,2&3 – S.G.D. Singh
93 – 44 – 32 ratings

Is anyone surprised this one is on the top of my list? Both Candyce and I talked about this wonderful series so many times already. It makes me so sad to see how little ratings there are on Goodreads and to think that there are so little people who’ve read these books. I truly loved this series so much and wish everyone picked it up.

2. Dare You to Lie – Amber Lynn Natusch
383 ratings

One of my absolute favorite books of last year, why does this have so little ratings? People are killing me with this!! This book was freaking awesome and I can’t wait for the sequel. The author is a lot of fun too. She loves Veronica Mars (who else is excited for the new season?!) and this book is inspired by that show.

3. Blackheart Legacy 1&2 – Liz de Jager
570 – 149 ratings

I really need to read the last book in this urban fantasy series. No one seems to know these books and seeing the number of ratings, I understand why. I really enjoyed these first 2 books and hope the third one is as enjoyable.

4. Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery #1-#5 – Danielle Garrett
860 – 438 – 369 – 393 – 285 ratings

I listened to the audiobooks for these pretty quickly. Once I started with this series I just couldn’t stop! Hopefully my audiobook subscription service gets book 6 soon. I really want to continue with these fun magical cozy mysteries.

5. A Touch of Gold – Annie Sullivan
953 ratings

I listened to the audiobook for this one right at the end of 2018 and really enjoyed it. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did! And Annie is such a sweet human being <3. There will be a sequel this year I believe and I’m excited for it!

6. Fireworks – Katie Cotugno
1.377 ratings

This was one of my first audiobooks ever! I loved the setting in this one and have been planning on reading more Karie Cotugno books ever since. Somehow I never did do that but here’s to my new resolve. I was expecting for this one to have a lot more ratings actually!

7. Little White Lies – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
1.601 ratings

Another one where I was expecting so much more ratings. While I don’t talk about her that much, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read 13 books by her and apart from the novella’s all of them where either 4 or 5 star reads. The sequel Deadly Little Scandals will be released this year, and how cool does that title sound?

8. Contagion – Erin Bowman
1.644 ratings

This was such a fun thrilling ride! A YA scifi mystery space story with a jaw dropping cliffhanger. Do I even need to say more? Please pick this one up!

9. The Exact Opposite of Okay – Laura Steven
1.667 ratings

I wouldn’t be surprised if you all are tired of hearing us mention this book as well haha. This was another one of my favorites last year and I think this is such a important read. I have the sequel preordered already!

10. Heartstopper – Alice Oseman
1.965 ratings

And the last book has just a couple of rating below 2000. I read this graphic novel on Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect time for it! This book gave me all the feels and I’m already looking forward to the next on in the series. What a wonderful book this was!

And those were 10(ish) books I LOVED with fewer than 2000 ratings on Goodreads. Have you read any of these books? Do you plan on reading any? Let me know in the comments!

  1. The good thing about a list like this one is that you get to discover some great new books. The bad news is you discover some great new books and your TBR keeps growing haha. I totally agree with the exact opposite of okay!

    1. Definitely do bump it! Such a fun read and I love that’s it’s a lesser used retelling 😀
I really enjoy magic cosy mysteries and the Beechwood Harbor ones are my favorites!

  2. Oh I have wanted to read The Exact Opposite of Okay for awhile but my libraries don’t have it and I’m on a hella budget right now. Glad you liked it though!

    1. That’s too bad your libraries don’t have The Exact Opposite of Okay! Hopefully you’ll be able to get it at some point!
